USC Hangover

UCLA lays an egg at the Rose Bowl in a 31-10 loss to Stanford. So the takeaway is why didn’t USC do this to the Bruins?

  1. Maybe that’s what you’re wondering about Scott – I’d say everybody else is asking how come ucla is what they always shall be –

u clowns lost again – why did that happen? All that momentum…took out troy three in a row and now this mess – – – oh well there it is – – –

  2. Whether USC beats UCLA is irrelevant !

Because UCLA and their Fans are “LOSERS”, always have been, always will !

    Go back to “Badminton” ?

    • Rick, your comment is arrogant in a silly way. Both are good universities. And right now, UCLA has the better football coach, and hence the better football team. Why not focus on changing that instead?

      • Better coach? Based on what ??? The guy hasnt done s h i t with a full roster!!! Wow, denial is thick in Ruinoville!

      • Ben I have nothing against the UCLA Bruins in any way !

USC is my favorite College Football team by far, but UCLA is my 2nd favorite College Football team by far, in fact there is/are no other teams !!

I said those things because UCLA fans come on Trojan Blogs just to talk smack, I actually didn’t want to say those things and hoped that no Bruin player would read that message !!!

I “never” go to UCLA Blogs and talk smack, in fact the Bruins are by far my favorite College Basketball team, Arizona a very distant 2nd !

I said what I said because I can’t stand UCLA Football “fans”, little people with Big Mouths !!

        USC Football
        UCLA Basketball

And yes I will be rooting for UCLA in their bowl game !

I meant no offense to You…

  3. At least the Pac12 title game will be interesting with Arizona already beating the best of the west in the Oregon Ducks and Oregon won’t have a tune-up game all but ensuring their playoff bid against a ucla team they already pummeled.

    • I had the same thought. It’s the best game we could have asked for, given that USC isn’t going to play.

      • Wilting, they’re wilting…

As has been posted many times on this blog – UCLA has always choked under pressure.

          • It’s easy to own LA football when the other team is sanctioned out of the competition. UCLA can’t even beat a team that doesn’t completely suck. And USC scored more on Stanford on the road, not to mention that they actually beat them. Enjoy your 7 year losing streaks to Stanford and Oregon. I know I will.

          • EXCUSES, EXCUSES,EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES is all you got Underpant load.

          • Pfft dream on loser SC wins big, then you will have nothing which is what you started with so its all good Ruino

          • Pfft, very Shakespearean and extremely snappy repartee. On a scale 1 – 10 with one being best, W/tird you’re a 718.

        • Yet another uninformed comment from Helen. OUR coach has won only 20% of his games vs. top 25 teams. And he looked especially bad last week.

Why not focus on that unfortunate situation?

        • 8 years of losses to the farm in a row dude, thats embarrassing to any team that has any self respect – you got beat by nerds – NERDS!

        • Hey SUCCer, you know what? I know today’s humiliating loss against the lowly Stanford team isn’t painful to all of you SUCLA SUCCers since you’re so used to losing year in and year out. In fact, you’re IMMUNE TO losing, aren’t ya? But in case you’re not, you better get used to it, because you’ll be losing team from here to eternity. LMFAO!!!

        • And yet here you are. Where you’ll always be. Drowning in your own self pity, wishing that for just one day, you knew what it was like to be a trojan.

  4. SC had their chances to take control of the SUCLA game in the first half, but two turnovers did Troy in.

Football can be a strange game where one team grabs the momentum, and plays start falling its way.

Play a second game and things could be quite different.

But it is all over now, and the loss to SUCLA has been remedied by this SUCLA embarrassment to Stanford (again).

    • A letdown against Stanford is sort of typical of most college teams.

I agree with you that the UCLA game momentum was pretty hopeless by the middle of Q3. I don’t agree that turnovers were determinative. There were a number of factors, and coaching was a material one.

USC was lucky to get its win vs. Stanford…and even luckier vs. Arizona.

My heart was not at all set on Orgeron, and I nonetheless think the team was better coached last year by a margin.

The trainee AD consulted his trainee buddies, and hired a coach who, so far, has looked like the worse coach in most of the games vs. decent teams. Moreover, his work at USC is fully consistent with his work at UW. This is not Rich Rodriguez at Michigan. Sark’s just not that smart, and doesn’t know it, so as to compensate in other ways.

Sark is the man without effective answers: to scheme around his own team’s roster strengths and weaknesses; to teach his individual players what they need to do to succeed; to respond to the strategies of opponents.

I’ll give you my long-term prediction. Haden’s folly will cost USC $25-to-$50 million before Sark is finally canned.

You’re a lawyer; make your case. Tell me you disagree, and show me specifically how and where I’m wrong. I like learning from the more insightful and informed.

      • Dude – jack wang loser followers might have time to read this dribble – do you need the address?

  5. UCLA lays egg at Rose Bowl again. Mora still looking for a big win. Welcome to El Paso. 3 home loses and Hundley’s stock drop. Hundley will be lucky to go in 3rd round.

    • Anyone think sark’s first 3 years at sc will be as good as mora’s at ucla? …… No chance

      • Hey boyo time to wake up – the bloom is off the rose for Mora – this was his best shot at making ucla relevant – he totally failed losing this last game.

Look for more of the same in the bowl they’re assigned to – this was one indelible collapse no matter how it is claimed it wasn’t. A real mess – no getting around it – no preparation for Stanford – penalties didn’t kill the bruins – their lack of skill did.

Good luck with that 80 yd. practice field.

        Fight on!

        • Otis, SUCC’s 100 practice filed sure helped overcome the 38 -20 point disadvantage at the RB last week. I think you need another two or three eye openers.

          • What, you’re uncontrollably jealous in advance of our win? Do your football interests only lie with SC? You live, eat, and sleep with it, and it dominates and occupies your whole existence? You know what? I’d probably do the same if I were you, since USC football is a premier brand in college football, which the likes of SUCLA will NEVER, EVER catch up with. In fact, you DO know your football, don’t ya? LOL!!!

          • Tell us again how Stanford sucks. Nothing like a beat down at your own house. Hundley the great hope a 4th round draft choice and Holiday bowl on the horizon. LOL, how is that BB team doing in tourney oops.

          • timmy, when did I say such a thing. UCLA took a knee in the Third Qtr. But our lost today in no way competes with the The Boston Massacre, featuring SUCC’s incredible 20 net rushing yards ground game.

Our BB team took it in the shorts this weekend, but we weren’t playing the Zips of Akron and losing by 66 – 46.

          • Your the girl who thought she was going to prom with the handsome football star and told everybody but sadly ended up with Scotty in a tux.

          • What did you say Wolftird, your mouth is full of balls. I’ve got hair on my booty with more class and intelligence than you display. Wolfy want a lollipop?

          • Crickets … Crickets !!! Protect that logo !!! And go have Cal play your lame fight song you share with them !!!

          • It was a brutal conclusion for a quarterback who in recent weeks had secured his spot in the annals of UCLA football history, becoming the program’s all-time leader in total offense and touchdown passes. But even as the stats painted one picture, losses in every game he played against Pac-12 elites, Stanford and Oregon, along with the absence of a Pac-12 title on his resume may mar an otherwise sparkling legacy.

A little more than a year ago, at a news conference announcing that he’d delay his NFL future and return to Westwood, Hundley spoke of carrying UCLA to national prominence. But even as that dream fell flat Friday – with the Bruins now looking at a middling Pac-12 bowl bid – Hundley assured that Friday’s unfortunate ending couldn’t spoil what he’s helped build in three seasons.

      • Hate to burst your bubble but Sark has exact same record as Mora in his first year. That is with 3 years of sanctions building up. Sarks first year he out recruited Mora and they dreams is dying before it started.

      • The biggest accomplishment of the Mora era is winnign a Sun Bowl and getting blown out of the Holiday Bowl. So it’s not really a big bar. I think Sark has already accomplished More-ah with his rookie season recruiting class. And that was only 15 players.

        • True, UCLA routinely ran over Adoree, and Jackson is highly adept with the Alligator/no way blocks.

Underpant Load, here is something you can’t ignore: UCLA 38 – succ 20. LOL.

          • You SUCLA SUCCers were just immensely lucky to have a few phantom wins while we were under the ridiculous sanctions. BUT…your luck will run out rather quickly starting next year. But wait, it looks like you already have, doesn’t it? Oops..sorry to have burst your bubbles, SUCCer…LMFAO!!!

          • Adoree is suppose to be an offensive player, but plays cornerback because USC doesn’t have enough players on the roster to cover all positions. How many guys did UCLA run over on Stanford’s team? I hope the tire tracks come out of your powder blue uni’s before your glorious Sun Bowl re-pete attempt.

      • Yes. Sark can now recruit a full class. He gets to make a few staff changes in the off season. He’s already beaten Stanford on the road, which Mora has yet to do. The two teams finished with equal records in the PAC (Mora in his third year with Brett Hundley, Sark in his first year).

Besides, what has Mora done so far??

  6. Stanford earns a bowl bid. Other PAC 12 Teams with 7 or more wins; Zona. ASU, The Ducks, UCLA, USC, Utah, and The Huskies who will end up 8-5 with a win over WSU. Washington opened the season with a win over The Rainbows. We’re going bowling again but it sure isn’t the Big Time…….

  7. Bruins look lame against an average team with a good coach….
USC sunshine pumpers are going to twist themselves into knots making excuses for sark

    • I don’t think Shaw is a good coach. He is merely surviving off of what Harbaugh did with the program. And Sark hasn’t shown much potential in his 1st year.

What this game does show is that with a decently experienced O-Line and a good defense/defensive coordinator, both of which Stanford and Utah have, the bRuins don’t stand a chance.

This was supposed to be ucla’s year, but once again they blew it. Hundley is gone and Mora might be as well.

At least ucla won’t have to be embarrassed by Oregon again this year.

      • I disagree about Shaw. He’s probably not Chip Kelly, but he’s no Sark, either. Stanford’s admission standards ARE a burden for the football coach. Always have been. Bill Walsh coached there, remember?

But for four years, Stanford had Andrew Luck, the best QB prospect in a while. He compensated for gap between Stanford’s lesser recruits and those of USC, UCLA, and Oregon.

What USC fans can hope for is that UCLA’s loss helps USC recruiting a little. Still, Mr. Average Coach will still be on the sidelines.

        • I don’t think Sark has done anything this year. But I’m willing to give him more time. Everyone talks about how lousy he was at Washington. Gee, the Huskies were 0-12 when he got there. I will say this: we need some FIRE on the coaching staff. And it’s not Coach O as HC. Anyway, it was a great Friday. Let’s hope SC gets it done vs ND

  8. Gotta pity a program that bases it’s year on what other programs do or do not do and not on their own results, or lack of titles. Pathetic losers.

    • I agree, Rey. It is sad that SC has fallen so far that their most jubilant day of the year is when a far superior UCLA team, who completely owns LA and USC, loses a game. The Trojans have really fallen a long, long way.

      • That’s actually a pretty clever response. But you and I know UCLA football is all about beating USC. Why else would Hundley say he has “accomplished everything?” He beat SC three times, I give him props for that. But he has not Pac 12 crown, no Heisman, no All American status, no MNC….Wow. Also, WHY ELSE would there be so many UGLY TROLLS on here, and many also with SC-based, SC-centric nicknames?

  9. HOGAN had a day like last years team;I do know he missed the great running backs, but he still did not play up to last year ,except yesterday;stanford is a man to man matchup for anybody,it is Hogan that makes the difference;stanford pressured hundley consistently, unlike SC and their brain trust…the SC coaches need to attend some alabama coaching clinics, maybe next year if players return incl injured are healed and eligible stay to right this sinking ship;yesterdays stanford team would have demolished SC this year,HOGAN having a good day ,like any team with all that physical attribute is hard to beat;wish I was wrong,it is all about being physical all the time, and particularly in practice sessions, you play as you practice.

  10. Like I’ve said many times before on this board: Jim Mora Junior is simply an average coach. Not a great coach, like the UCLA fans think he is. This is the best he can, and will ever, do.

Thanks to the sanctions the guy has been able to get UCLA a few wins over SC. This will change.

  11. This is one of the funniest days EVER. CHOKE. Dummies DOMINATE Stanford. Stanford DOMINATES the LA Ownerships. Heisman Hudley QUITS on his team. Mora won’t discuss PLAYOFFS. PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS? Oh, sorry, wrong Mora. Enjoy El Paso. Typical bruins, CHOKE and back to the end of the line. Can’t wait to hear how the bRuins made STRIDES this year. What a lousy program. Recruit On!

  12. USC didn’t do it to UCLA because the Bruins are a better coached team, and here’s the kicker, Jim Mora and Steve Sarkisian are going to be in place for at least the next 3 years. Welcome to mediocrity, Baby !! Sarkisian, Pat Haden, Lane Kiffin, Paul Hackett, and Ted Tollner all thought, and think they have it all figured out…..NOT!
