Former USC defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast is the top choice to fill LSU’s defensive coordinator position, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Ed Orgeron is also in the mix for the job.

USC OL Coach Tim Drevno To Michigan As Offensive Coordinator
USC offensive coordinator Tim Drevno will apparently join Michigan as offensive coordinator. First reaction? Jim Harbaugh will call plays. Second reaction? Drevno ruffled feathers with a sometimes rough edge but he also dealt with three true freshmen starters on the offensive line.
Now who will Steve Sarkisian hire? Boosters will push for former offensive line coach Tim Davis. But whoever he hires, it cannot be perceived as a weakness. The fans are already frustrated with defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox.
USC Year-End Question
Tim Drevno To Michigan?
USC offensive line coach Tim Drevo could be reunited with Jim Harbaugh at Michigan according to the Sacramento Bee. Is this the staff change you were hoping for? Drevno was not always popular within Heritage Hall but was always wanted back for next season.
Maybe he left San Francisco last year worried he might not have a job if Harbaugh got fired. Last week I asked him about Harbaugh going to Michigan.
“You won’t find a better coach than Jim Harbaugh,” he said. “I learned a lot from him.”
Should USC Make Adoree Jackson Its Awards Candidate Centerpiece
Based on his Holiday Bowl (and other parts of the season), should Adoree Jackson be considered USC’s Heisman Trophy candidate? It won’t happen because quarterback Cody Kessler will be considered the top candidate.
But who else can generate the excitement and national buzz that Jackson can by returning kickoffs, catching touchdown passes and intercepting passes next year? His uniqueness makes him the most marketable candidate but I doubt USC will be daring enough to do it.
USC Morning Buzz: A Better Definition Of Success
USC linebacker Su’a Cravens was asked what the Trojans need to do next season.
“We need to beat UCLA. We need to beat Notre Dame. We need to win the Pac-12,” Cravens said.
Poll Results
The people have spoken as 83 percent currently do not agree with Steve Sarkisian’s comment that the season was a “total success.”
Picture Of The Day
Two-For-One Deal
USC plays UCLA in women’s basketball at 6 p.m. at the Galen Center followed by USC-Vermont at 8:30 in men’s basketball. Frankly, I’d rather watch the women’s game than a 5-6 Vermont team that Andy Enfield scheduled.
Juju Smith Remains Hungry
Wide receiver Juju Smith looks poised for a big sophomore season and he said he is motivated because he wanted an even better freshman year.
“I’m still hungry, I’m not happy with the way the season went,” Smith said. “There were certain balls I could have caught but I didn’t. I wanted to catch the pass against Notre Dame they said I didn’t.”
