Christian Kirk Update

Why did five-star wide receiver Christian Kirk abruptly cancel last week’s visit to USC?

“I didn’t want to go,” Kirk told the Arizona Republic. “I didn’t have the interest. I just had a gut feeling that wasn’t the place for me.”

Kirk will choose fromĀ Arizona State, UCLA, Auburn, Ohio State and Texas A&M on Dec. 17.

    • My daughter was accepted to 8 schools and liked 3. She ultimately chose the 1 she felt was best for her. Her choice was not an indictment of the other schools. But if your narrative is that Sark is not the answer for USC; I guess you need to bend every event to fit your narrative.

  1. Why would Christian Kirk commit to USC when he sees talent like Darreus Rogers sitting on the bench behind two true freshmen ? he would be a fool to get caught up in that for the next few years. And I don’t want to hear about that “you have to compete” Nonsense, that coaches feed players . You need playing time to develop your skills, and I remember when Pete Carroll would over recruit the running back position, then get upset when players complained about playing time.

    • So tired of hearing this garbage – YOU ARE WRONG, look at Matt Cassell and all of the other NFL talent that’s come from USC that weren’t getting the “playing time” you think is so important (most NFL talent of any school, by the way), then tell me they are better off going to somewhere else for “playing time” – for what??? Football as a hobby??? Sc doesn’t want hobbyist football players, they want PROS. Go tell Emmanuel Moody your bullshot, and come back and let me know what he said.

    • Any kid would be a fool for choosing USC, period!!! it’s a University Surrounded by Crips, who wants that for their child? any loving parent would do everything in his/her power to discourage their child from attending a school that us so unsafe, it requires security bars around the campus and is on lockdown 365 days a year from 9:00PM to 6:00AM.

        • that is funny actually, but USC is the second best choice, when you can’t get into UCLA…better than Pepperdine, and LMU.
At UCLA it’s who not you know that gets you in, it’s how good a student you are, I believe the average GPA for an incoming freshman is 4.35.

    • Fred, what is your problem with competition? In an earlier thread you were spouting off about Pete Carroll and his competition style of coaching? Let me give you a little help here Fred, since it seems like you were never a COMPETITIVE athlete. PC’s competition brought USC seven straight conference titles and a 6-1 BCS Bowl game record. Obviously it works because it’s working in Seattle as well.

      • I’m all for competition, but I’m not for the student athlete to sit and rot on the bench, and especially if he or she has loads of talent. Do you think Brice Butler would have been drafted by the Raiders if he stayed buried on the bench at USC, instead of transferring to San Diego State ? Maybe, but I seriously doubt it, so sometimes it’s best to go elsewhere, to put yourself in a better situation for your future.

    • Leave your house out of it. Oops, i apologize I meant to say leave your mobile home out of it.

      • yeah, like YOU would send your child to USC, I am sure you’re more a responsible parent than to ever allow your child attend that dump of a school, surrounded by 18th street gang, maratruchas, and the crips.

          • He was 2nd team All Pac-12 only behind the best QB in the nation…where was Mr. 26 of 36 TDs against 5 weak teams (10 against 7 other stronger teams). Kessler? You wanna talk a out overrated? Look no further. Thanks for playing, fool.
            LMFAO.

          • Unlike you, when I post, it’s with FACTS – not BS, which is pretty much condom style.

          • Sure thing there. So you just confirmed that you follow USC football. Way to love our condom style. Were are your seats?

#hey Check it out Stanford scored again against UGLY

          • Check it out, Hayes Pullard is still waiting for that ball to fall into his arms!
Check it out, Bruins are still scoring TDs against the SUCksters.

          • Check it out, Melsby still fumbled, Henley is still locked up, (as is Freddie Mitchell), and Stanford and Oregon ran you “guys” over again.

          • Breaking news: “Josh Shaw saves Manti Te’o’s girlfriend from drowning”

            Who is Melsby?

          • Do your homework bud, that girl in the car with him was his girlfriend, and now his wife. The story of him leaving the scene to seek medical help was a true story, hence charges dropped…and ALSO, UCLA suspended Medlock until the court ruled on the matter…unlike usc players that get arrested for rape, and they don’t even get suspended for a practice, fricking ridiculous!!!

          • Sure thing there. Still did something wrong. Just holding him to the same standard you hold our guys, Bub.

        • Maratruchas reside exclusively north of Wilshire. The restraining order prohibits them from being within a 4 mile radius of the SC campus.
Perhaps you got confused and were thinking of Mariachis…whom we welcome with open arms.
You bring shame to your kindred spirit…Senor Cubo.

          • as previously stated, when you can’t get in at UCLA, USC is the next best choice, as bad as the area may be, we can’t deny that the quality of education at USC is superior to Pepperdine or Loyola Marymount university.

          • Sooooo, you just said that Mora’s daughter is not a good student. Way to support your coach.
            #BHAAAAAAAAA you are funny

          • “good” gets you into usc, GREAT gets into UCLA, why it’s that so hard to understand?

  2. His parents raised him right…seems that place corrupts students. I mean just look at a couple of former USC players, like Mark Sanchez he came from a very good family, and what happens? he gets arrested for rape (charges dropped). Then you have Marc Tyler, raised in a very good family, and what happens? he sexually harasses a woman at a club and spits at another female student. I can go on, and on.
So Christian Kirk, you are one smart kid, and have the tools and intelligence to be a great Bruin.

  3. The guy wanted instant playing time and didn’t want to comPETE for it. We have plenty of quality receivers

  4. The kid certainly won’t go to SUCLA if he’s smart. Business Insider states that SUCLA (they call it “ucla”) is the “most dangerous college in America.”

And why is it SC has the most foreign students of any American campus?

But arguing with the SUCLAs is like arguing with a precocious teenager– facts don’t matter.

  5. How about a little praise for his honesty? A lot of these kids enjoy playing the game, getting the free trip to L.A. and the adulation. Good for him. I hope he is happy wherever he ends up.

  6. I agree with Kirk, I didn’t feel that he was/is USC talent !

    No offense !!

Kirk just isn’t a Trojan and I have been hoping he would go elsewhere ?

In the end (4-5 years from now) we will see what kind of talent he had for college football !

One thing is for sure is, Kirk does not have the talent of Ju Ju or Adoree, not even close and we need Linebackers (3 Biggies out there that are heavily headed to USC!), oops and speaking of “Biggies”, Biggie Marshall, man would that guy be “HUGE” for the Trojans…
