Mel Kiper’s Draft Preview

Embedded image permalink

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper has USC’s Leonard Williams No. 2 on his Big Board but he made some news this morning when he said there is no franchise quarterback in the draft despite having Marcus Mariota as his No. 1 player.

“I don’t think there is a franchise quarterback, Marcus Mariota, I don’t put in that category,” Kiper said. “I thought it would be Jameis Winston . . . but I would not say he’s a franchise quarterback going in.”

    • Agreed, but he should be available deep into the first round, maybe even high in the second round.

  1. Sounds contradicting to me. I normally agree with the guru, but if your top player in the draft is a QB, then he must be a franchise QB. Or he won’t be the first overall pick. Otherwise you’re saying that it’s a significantly down draft.

  2. Pac 12 on top followed by a Kiffin Coached Receiver….wonder what Les Miles thinks of that
