It is always easy to choose a skill player to be a team’s most valuable player but if I had to pick an MVP for USC this season, it would be linebacker Su’a Cravens. Besides making a fairly quick transition from safety, Cravens led the Trojans with 16 tackles for loss and tied for the lead with two interceptions. His five sacks were only two behind team leader J.R. Tavai.
But more important than stats, Cravens made big play after big play. He influenced games. I’m not sure anyone else was more consistent.
Cody Kessler and Nelson Agholor obviously had more touches but I think Cravens was the best performer and most reliable player.
I agree! I Watched him solely from time to time and he was constantly near the point of attack! He’s a ball hawk!
FIGHT ON!
A good choice. A fun player to watch
I didn’t notice any Trojies of real value when SC played UCLA.
true dat
Aha – Another .5 bruin playing on an 80 yard field, miles from their campus.
It’s ok, if we didn’t have any value when you beat us, most don’t think your team has been valuable throughout it’s history anyway.
#Discussamongstyourselves
wow, I’m almost speechless. #clowncollege
“Pray tell” Wan, how SUCC’s 100 yard practice field helped SUCC avoid its third consecutive dbl. digit bend over defeat at the Rose Bowl, miles from UCLA’s campus.
Why do you make fun of Juan’s name? Do we have a lib/progressive spouting racisms?
Or is it just senility kicking in? Hillary/Barak would be pissed.
SUCLA football = The biggest joke in LA sports history. LOL!!!
Peck, peck, peck.
Hey now!!! That does resemble the actual sound of a SUCLA cookie getting pounded. Nice goin’, SUCCee!!! LOL!!!
Peck, peck, peck, peck.
Wow, you won three in a row and you think your gods gift to football. How about a Rosebowl win every 25 years or so?
Hey Wan blow dry on #2.
Hey UGLY Rents Football – Is my dry cleaning done yet?
You wouldn’t know real value if it hit you between the eyes little guy.
I actually agree with Wolf…
I was pretty happy with Cody this year, and am wondering if his struggles in big games are at least partly due to our o-line also struggling most in big games simply due to the fact that they were facing bigger, better d-lines.
I also thought Cody deserved it with his great finish against the Irish.
wolfman, you are wise.

Scotty finally taking his meds like the doctor ordered.
You’re rounding into shape, Scottie. Nice opinion, well-supported. I happen to agree with you.
Cravens was humongous in the UCLA game.
Did J Moron give you the steamiest hug of your life yet??? LMAO!!!
I respect that, Scott. I voted for Adoree in your poll.
I find it amusing and a little sad that a straight forward sports question , lacking any snarkiness or negativity can still engender mean spirited comments. And I am sure that each of the authors considers themselves humorous and witty
Pretty thoughtful pick, S. Wolf
I voted for The Sark man is a genius, such an offensive mind a true visionary, truly a shame Clown College does not appreciate him enough, he’s my MVP.. .
#Sarkfor4more
If only he could be more like “Big Game Mora”…
That’s true playing vs. Clown College is not even considered a big game anymore, UCLA has to beat the Northern powers while Clown College struggles with the Boston Colleges of the world.. .
#Sarkfor4more
If you consider beating a team that is down 30+ scholarship players as a big win, then more power to ya. Ugly once again crapped the bed when there was something on the line.
Big game mora has done what since coming to ugly?
“Our 75 are better than your 85” do they have math at Clown College??
#Sarkfor4more
Cody Allen was by far the best player on the team this year.
Sua Cravens needs to be better at tackling. He likes to hit but not good at wrapping up the ball carrier. He is small as a linebacker so he leads with the shoulder and dosent wrap up.
