Can’t Blame This On Pac-12 Refs

CAESAR

During tonight’s Seahawks-Cardinals game, it was noted Seattle has committed the most penalties in the NFL and its opponents the fewest. That reminded me Pete Carroll had the same issue at USC.

USC opponents were called for the fewest penalties in the Pac-10 every year from 2004 to 2007.

“The same thing is happening again,” Carroll said in 2008. “There’s no explanation for it. … I just don’t understand how teams play so well against us for five years.”

At least in 2014 Carroll can’t blame the Pac-10 (now Pac-12) referees.

    • Do you think that Pete ever thinks about Scott Wolf for even a nanosecond? Scott’s unrequited obsession is bordering on restraining order territory.

  1. Wolfie and Petey: One’s a big-time, historically significant championship football coach. The other’s a blogger with a hankerin’ for Troll love. You be the judge.

  2. Why do always get this vision of Seattle police leading Scotty away handcuffed screaming “I just wanted to talk to him”?

  3. You know what? After having watched all the SC games under Carroll, I can attest to the fact that there were indeed a number of games where officiating was suspiciously one-sided against Carroll’s SC teams. I know these SUCLA boneheads will call it a senseless SC fanatic crying for foul, but then they’ll take extreme pleasure with anything and everything going against SC, so WTH is new?

    • realSUCC, you’re correct, we “…will call it a senseless SC fanatic crying for foul (sic)…” A whole paragraph, you’re quite peck, peck, pecker.

      • Hey SUCCee, did you enjoy the first half of that tasty basketball game in which your beloved SUCLA SUCCsters got absolutely bombed by Kentucky yesterday? Wowie!!! What’s the secret of scoring “7” points in all of the first half?!!! It sure took some miraculous talent, didn’t it? Congrats for making total losers out of yourselves yet once again on national TV!!! And thanks a bunch for the top notch entertainment!!! I mightily enjoyed watching those SUCLA lowlifes getting their rear ends kicked around like that!!! LMFAO!!!

  4. well, maybe those refs came from the Pac 12…or have relatives and friends who ref Pac 12…just all kinds of possibilities to ponder…

  5. Is there a correlation between being a leader in penalties and winning football games?– Logically, it is counter-productive to be penalized, but who knows.

Perhaps the SUCLA vermin know because they are a bunch of dudes who know it all.

    • Jersey I think it depends most on whether your penalties are “White or Exotic.”

  6. If that’s what it takes to win a Super Bowl and a couple of National Championships, so be it. I’ll follow Pete Carroll’s football lead any day of the week.

  7. I’d like to think that it was because they were aggressive, which resulted in championships and success. Wolfie can continue to spin it with some negative BS. p.s. Wolf..you know Carroll is long gone from USC so you can stop stalking him, right?
