Another Familiar Caesar Moment

Last night I pointed out how the Seattle Seahawks led the NFL in penalties and its opponents committed the least amount against them. That was a similar issue to what Pete Carroll experienced at USC.

And here’s another one. The Cardinals played Seattle with their No. 3 QB. When Carroll was at USC, I used to joke with him about how many teams missed their top players against USC. Arkansas didn’t have its top tailback. Hawaii didn’t have its quarterback. There was a long list. But this is all part of the Caesar myth.

  1. Wow. Why don’t you just become the beat writer for UCLA? You practically are anyway. Trolls in 3……2…….

  2. Scotty has a white board in his house with all the luck other people have had and reasons for him being unsuccessful. Item 27 the time he got the mumps and missed his journalism class on how to be good journalist. Pete’s response to Scotty joking with him ” who the FK are you and who told you to speak?”

  3. Don’t forget those two NCs in college, and SB championship. Those also contribute to the myth.

  4. Wolfie, it is so much fun to travel down memory lane with you. But be honest, did Pete really talk to you?

  5. Was that the year that SC scored 5 TD’s on their first 8 plays or the time they dropped 50 on the road and pulled everyone in the 4th? 120 points in two games and Arkansas having a 2nd string tailback was the difference.

  6. You’re wrong, Mr. Wolf. Darren McFadden was expected to miss the game after he hurt his toe in a summer bar brawl. But he still managed 9 carries for 42 yards. You might have heard about the second string RB. A certain “scrub” named Felix Jones.

  7. Scott, I must tell you that “Caesar” has to be the best nickname you’ve ever created for Pete Carroll. He’s got all the qualities and abilities to be the King Of Football. I think the man is truly special in terms of motivating and extracting the best out of his players, and he has proven it both in college and pro football, especially in big games. Wish he was still with us at SC.

    • Caesar had regular teeth, Litttle Petey Pom-Pom has chipmunk teeth. You can’t be King of Football and have chipmunk teeth.

      • He is the “C” in the “RCS”. While I am most def a teeth guy, his hair makes up for it. And he could easily fix the teeth with InvisiLign from a USC educated DDS. He has the basics of a great top tooth, no horse gums, shiny white smile.

        • My compliments, a very cheeky reply. I meant to do this yesterday, but we SS retirees can only afford electricity 12 hours a day.

      • Hey, I understand you SUCCee hilariously possess peckerwood teeth. Does that make you the King Of Fools then? LMAO!!!

  8. What coach in any sport these past 10 years has drawn attention as Pete Carroll has?

Oh to be mocked yet feared….yes truly tis which all aspire and leave the rabble to that which they know….envy and malice….

“…shall with his monarch’s voice cry ‘Cry Havoc And Let Loose The Dogs Of War!’ “
