Discuss The Game

Shop USC Trojans Score TeeHate to say it but this game mirrored the season. Even with a lot of great moments, you can’t suffer with coaching-and-execution lapses. That has to change next season.

Justin Wilcox learned one thing this season. Put Nelson Agholor in for Hail Mary plays.

  1. tommie Armstrong, who could not hit the broad side of a barn with a football and passing is not even important at Nebraska, anyway…torched us for 385 yds…good Justin I hear Taco Bell is hiring

  2. Justin Wilcox should not even be allowed to get on the bus. What is (should) Sark going to do about the ridiculous amount of penalties?

  3. Just look at starting line up on D and you realize what the real problem is. All that talent????? Starting D has 3 star freshman and juco transfer at saftey. All of you dumbs!ts calling for Wilcox job are just stupid. UDUB wanted to keep Wilcox last season even after Sark left. Outside of of Williams, Cravens, (both where hurt in this game) and Tavai none of this defense would see the field in other Pac !2 schools.

    • Adoree n hayes??? Relax with dumbshit stuff man. Its just an opinion they have posted bro.

    • if you think outside of jr tavai and cravens no other team in the pac 12 would give a look to :

      josh shaw
      claude pelon
      hayes pullard
      adoree jackson
      antony sarao

you are out of your mind. I appreciate the spirit, but it’s time to deal with reality. Wilcox sucks

      • Agree! correct me if i’m wrong but looking at our starting d from tonight and i see only 3/11 are less than 4 stars. Which would be 2/11 if woods wasn’t out. Too much talent regardless of depth to be giving up that many yards/points to that team. Plus its not the only game this year we can say that about.

    • And NE refused to exploit it. Instead of ramming the ball down SUCC’s throat, NE decided to fool people with a D+ passing attack game and still nearly won

TA was so unfamiliar with a passing game, he ran out of bounds, several times on passing downs, holding the ball instead of unloading.

With a third and 3, NE with mo and just yards from a chip shot FG tie, inexplicably, decided to implode Sark style.

Whoever called those last two NE plays should have been fired on the field and marched, LenDale White mode, to the Q’s front gate. Two downs to make three yards and NE turns the ball over on downs.

      • Ohh Hallelujah to the Ucla”MONGERS”! Just like Jack B. says, you never disappoint….

      • Agree ucla owns. Also if you take away that botched snap by huskers on 4 and goal we have a different outcome here i think. I know i’m beating a dead horse here but i’m tired of watching a swiss cheese defense when it matters.

    • And the Trojans would have been 2-wins better and playing in a better bowl. You didn’t see Chris Petersen begging Wilcox to stay did you?

      • Chris Petersen is 8-5 and defense is ranked 85th vs USC 87th. They have 2 AA on D USC has 1. So maybe he should have asked him to stay?

  4. Thank you Nebraska AD for not letting Bo Pellini coach the bowl game. P.S. Is sark allowed to call Ed O now?

  5. That was a great game. Though Sark seemed like he was playing not to lose in the 4th, and Nebraska passed up two opportunities to try for a game-tying field goal, the Trojan D came up tough. I was happy for McQuay after his UCLA debacle; he’s SC’s best cover man. I think Kessler should learn from Barkley and declare for the NFL. He’s ready. I’ve rarely seen such maturation in a college QB in just 12 months.

    • Nice comments, but the Sark pattern of sitting on leads and playing conservative has been established.

  6. Couldn’t agree more. Sad coaching. We could have easily have lost this game. Wilcox should be the D coach at Cerritos college and Sark would make a good O cord. Don’t feel confident that Haden will take action!!

    • Sark was fortunate they didn’t flag SC for pass interference on that 3rd down pass, that would have set the Cornhuskers up for 3 tries at the end zone and at worst a makeable field goal..

  7. Ur up 11 4th and inches ball on USC 40yard line 6 minutes left in the game you have gambled all season long why are u punting. Line up kessler behind the center and sneak him.

    • I thought the same thing. Would have given the D a little rest to finish the game. That is what is wrong with Sark, that attitude won’t win NC.

      • NC?. NC?? You gotta be City Champs first, then Pac12 champs, sc is light years away from winning any of those championships.

        • All UCLA’s city championships led to nothing, including this season, so I don’t think you are qualified to give advice about the road to glory.

  8. Biggest thing that has to change next season is the Daily News needs a new USC beat writer.

  9. Defense is like the offense these days, and that means it is the coaching one minute great, next not;although in the case of Kessler, missing some wide open receivers, one has to wonder if he will actually be ‘the’ q/b come next season;maybe he should check his status with NFL…he played well most of the time,I do not think he was MVP;I don’t see a much better record for next year, the same staff will be out coached again, unless they go to some great coaching clinics and LEARN…how can you not be any good at all on special teams(kick off, punt and coverages) after 12 games, how can you drop interception after interception after 12 games;how do you not score even 1 point in the 4th quarter…those guys from Nebraska out coached SC,I guess they were out of range on field goals or did not believe their kicker accurate enough…Nebraska is still a great football school,SC beat them and I hope it means we are back.

    • Agree with everything but the last comment, there is a reason why they fired Bo, Nebraska was not building toward a championship in the Big 10 much less making the NCAA final four and the AD knew it. We have a big problem with Sark puckering up, playing not to lose instead of being aggressive with a lead in the 4th quarter like Manjit said above. We aren’t back until Sark changes his coaching approach.

  10. Are you sure it was Wilcox’ decision? It might have been a fan yelling it from the bleachers and Sarkisian heard this sensible-brilliant move and ordered it on his own? Wilcox was probably too busy trying his best to “miscommunicate” and was dumbfounded seeing Agholor on the field.
