USC Holiday Bowl Morning Buzz

The Holiday Bowl is upon us and here is my preview of the game. If USC loses, Steve Sarkisian will have an identical first-year record as Lane Kiffin did back in 2010. A victory will serve as a launch toward next season.

Nebraska seems a bit of a paradox. Are they going to be a typical Big 10-type team? Or will they give USC problems with a running quarterback?

As usual, I will be doing a live chat here during the game.

    • I don’t think you get the reaction you are looking for on this type of comment.
Why do you think that is?

    • Im sure Satan isn’t watching The Holiday Bowl but ill go with the gods in Vegas and take NEB +7 … .

    • God loves USC sooo you are doomed to a life of being a wailing souled bruin, with your teeth gnashing in torment

  2. The Holiday Bowl is a step up on the way back to National prominence for SC. The program is back on track and out from under sanctions. They are probably 2-3 years away from a play off spot but could be very strong next season. Depends on who stays for their senior year. Nebraska will be tough, but distracted, close at half time. Is the Trojan defense too fast and the offense too talented for the Huskers? Should be fun, can’t wait to get over to the Q.

    • USC should NEVER be playing in these games, NEVER. Sark took a 11-1, 10-2 team and ended up in San Diego on Dec 27th, that ain’t a step up.

      • USC had less than 50 players. Everybody else has 85. It’s amazing they won 6 games.

  3. Sark’s already talking about next year. Hey dumbazz, you have one of, if not, the most important game of your very average coaching career at 5:00 pm tonight. A stumbling bumbling loss could spell disaster for recruiting, a kick them in the bawlz win could reap great dividends. If Wilcox plays the back peddle defense and Sark throws the balls sideways, he’ll be done after 2016. If this is Wilcox last game as DC and Sarky lets Helton call the plays, Sark could be on his way. Guess which one will probably happen.

  4. sark is done after 2016 don’t worry. His 8-4 records and continual losses to UCLA will finish him. Not to mention Wilcox and his last in the Pac 12 pass defense..

  5. Tama is right, this is not where we should be. IF we had a decent coach we would be 10-2 or 11-1 and in a major bowl..sorry I can’t get a hard on over the holiday bowl. That is for Iowa or San Diego St.

    • Not if Sark doesn’t get better assistants and let someone else call plays. Do you remember Ted Tollner? Sark ‘s the fatter version of Tollner
