USC’s Youthful Trojans

USC coach Andy Enfield said last night the Trojans were the “fourth-youngest team in the nation.”

But this site says USC is actually the third-youngest team. Of course, No. 1-ranked Kentucky is the sixth-youngest team and 11-4 Vanderbilt is the fourth-youngest team.

  2. It took Utah 3 years to go from hiring a new coach, seeing EIGHT players bail right after the hire to currently being ranked 9th in the country. Why can’t USC find a competent basketball coach?

  4. Enfield needs to quit with the excuses and get his team to play better. If doesn’t finish in the middle of the conference, he should be on the hot seat.

  10. USC basketball and Kentucky basketball is a fair comparison. Hopefully the Kentucky football beat writer is comparing their football program to USC’s. The schools are like one and the same.

  12. Does anybody realize how horrible Kevin O’Neill and Pat Haden left the basketball program ? O’Neill was competing for players with San Jose State , UC Davis and Cal State Northridge, nobody wanted to play for that Clown. And Pat Haden allowed him to stay on as coach, and sign players even after he won only 3 games the season before he was fired…Really ? What Athletic director would ever allow that to happen ? So I personally think Andy Enfield is doing a great job in only his second season, because he has a lot of crap to clean up that was left behind by O’Neill.

    • I agree that KO ruined whatever the sanctions didn’t already destroy and that Haden dropped the ball yet again for allowing KO to stick around two seasons too many. However, just because AE isn’t KO doesn’t mean he’s any good. Enfield has yet to coach up any of his players in 1 1/2 seasons. As mediocre as Sark is, the Sark hire looks like a stroke of genius compared to the Enfield hire. Haden fired KO mid season so he had months to find a good coach. Instead, he hired the flavor of the week. IMO, nothing has exposed Haden’s incompetence more than the Enfield hire.
