Pat Haden Feels `Abused And Upset’ When Schools Get Sanctions Reduced

In an interview with 980-AM this morning, USC athletic director Pat Haden was asked whether the university should ask for victories restored and sanctions reduced like with Penn State.

“Well, it’s too late,” Haden said.. “We’re back to no scholarship limitations at all. I can tell you, Jeanne, over the last four and a half years I have been back there asking for a look at our penalties at least three times and have been rebuffed. At this point, I know USC fans and I feel this way too, when we see other programs around the country get relief or less penalty than we received, you feel abused and upset.”

  1. He sounds like he’s JEALOUS of Penn State and wishes he was a Nittany Lion rather than “CONDOM”….
    and…..I’m not CLOWNING!

    • Really troll? You think it is better to molest children and cover it up?
Let’s say you are right and Reggie Bush benefited from having money as a player. How does that compare to child abuse?
Penn State got away with an evil that cannot be measured. The NCAA dropped penalties, but has slowly erased the sanctions. The NCAA is supposed to be fair how can they drop sanctions for one institution and not the other?
We don’t want to be pansy lions or baby bears. We just want fair play for all.

      • normally the Bucket is cool as Sally’s boob, but this pardon of Penn St. makes me spittin’ mad! a child molestation ring aided and abetted by the football staff (including Paterno) and the school’s administration….it was a no-brainer for them to have received the death penalty for that football program, out of a sense of plain decency.

for once, i will side with trOXans on this one…if those dirty molesters get off the hook, then any penalty for Reggies shenanigans is an obscene injustice.

        #&$%!

        • Extremely well said.. The crime committed transcends comprehension. Lives were ruined… Football is insignificant with what crime was committed at Penn State.

        • Spare us your “indignation” Ugly Bucket. As with SC, Penn State involved only a couple or few people, so why punish the entire group that knew nothing about the situation.

          • Because Clown U’s AD was an arrogant D.Bag, who dismissed the NCAA investigation by stating the NCAA was jealous of Clown U’s success. LOL.

          • I can see you only come on here to hate. What a sad life. Really, try doing just one thing constructive in your life.

          • This is constructive. Gee ‘tevie do I have a bad tude ’cause I doan’t agree with your Clown U. schtick.

I mean, how can you support Clown U., a Univ. who’s Senior, SUCC graduate FB Team Capt. deliberately invents a false hero “rescue yarn,” to save himself from his self-induced untenable predicament.

Not only that, Clown U’s Head FB Coach sold Shaw’s fiction like Hox Box Burritos. ‘tevie do feel itchy and just bit foul.

          • Son, you are a fool, you show it daily. Every school has the screw ups. Your little school has had their share. Please don’t be so pompous, you don’t qualify.

          • Therein lies the rub (no pun intended). SC’s situation vs. Penn State’s is apples and oranges. Penn State broke laws, they did not gain a competitive advantage from their crimes. IMO it was not the NCAA’s jurisdiction. These guys at Penn State should be in the State Pen. They were complicit in covering up a crime. Serious restitution needs to be made to the victims. Jail time is more appropriate than probation.

IMO, the serious probation case should be at North Carolina. UNC was practicing academic fraud for 20 years in order to gain a competitive advantage, involving Athletic Directors and University Presidents. I think it is a much more egregious situation than what happened at SC. Unfortunately for SC, Garrett bungled the entire situation.

          • well, it took years, but someone outside of Happy Valley FINALLY lurches forth to defend the dignity of Molestation U….and it’s our very own Paralegal!!!

you’re right, despite the fact the highest levels of the institution participated in covering up child molestation, ensuring Sandusky had more time to violate children, harsh treatment wouldn’t be fair to the school! maybe you should circulate a petition to name Penn State honorary football champeens for 2011!!

man you are one WEIRD duck.

        • Don’t forget. Penn State had nothing to do with football! It wasn’t even a football camp. It was awful, but it was assistant coach with an outside organization and he is now paying the price in prison!

The NCAA didn’t punish Socal for Todd NcNair’s dog fighting exploits! That is a better parallel to Penn State!

  2. His official, verified Twitter handle is @IBendOverForUNCAA. Why does or did anyone expect a different outcome?

  3. Anyone miss NOBS? Wonder what happened to him? Did he jump off a cliff? or get hit by a car while walking drunk? or did he jump off a balcony to save a drowning nephew?

  4. Water under the bridge. Let’s move on and start winning championships in every sport we can. Fight On! That means don’t look back keep moving forward.

    • Actually GT, not a bad idea; although, SUCCster’s, such as, Stinky B, Jersey Johnnie, Otis the soused Commie, and ‘tevie will have to quit inflicting Wolf’s blog with their absurd 19th century historical, Clown U. those were the days of SUCC glory krap, ad infinitum.

  5. Pat, all your anger should be directed to two SCumbags, Mike Garrett, and Pete Carroll.

  6. Patty walked into the NCAA hearing with KNEE PADS on, signaling what his approach would be. HE did no show any fight, he went to the hearing BEGGING, whereas Penn State, Ohio Sate, Auburn, Florida let the NCAA they came to fight. THE MIGHTY NCAA BACKED DOWN FROM THE OTHERS, THEY STUCK IT TO SC WITHOUT GREASE BECAUSE THEY KNEW PATTY WAS A “CHUMP, ” WITH NO FIGHT IN HIM.
STILL TODAY PATTY IS SAYING ‘ THE PAST IS THE PAST, ‘ THAT’S B.S.
    SHOW SOME BACKBONE PATTY, PLEASE.

  7. USC, Ohio State, Miami, and other schools that have been screwed by Mark Emmert and his fellow thugs in the obsolete NCAA need to join forces and get rid of the useless organization. Emmert is an arrogant, narcissistic bully and he needs to go. BUT; he and his minions need more than just to be eliminated; they need to be held responsible for their potentially criminal actions. Nothing is more just than the perpetrators facing financial ruin and possible introduction to the U.S. Justice System.

  8. Well, other schools didn’t blow off the NCAA for five years when trying to investigate the allegations and still Joe McNight was getting cars and Dillon Baxter was riding with a runner, just to name a few!
