Oregon 75, USC 67

At first glance, the stats were encouraging as Katin Reinhardt and Julian Jacobs scored 16 points each while Jordan McLaughlin added 14. But Reinhardt made only 5 of 16 shots while McLaughlin was 4 for 15. That’s a combined 9-31. USC shot only 37 percent. Oregon was worse at 36 percent but made 25-31 free throws.

    • The legend in his mind bricks Clown U. to the bottom of the Pac-12 barrel.

      • Guess who we share the bottom with? How did that Oregon State game go for the powerhouse basketball school?

        • UCLA is 3 – 3; Clown U with Andyain’t winning at the helm is a solid 1 – 5 and doing the Hip-Hop version of the bottom of the Barrel Polka.

          • 3-3 and on the way to bottom. Great place for supposed BB powerhouse.

          • timmy, UCLA will finish better than 9 – 4 in conf. and nowhere near SUCC’s losers in the Pac-12 hole – How did Clown U get rolled like a Aussie Golfer in a wine bar by Army at home? I guess Army put Clown U on the “Barby.” LOL.

          • You’re so adorable. I guess being better than a 1-5 team is something to gloat about for a program whose fans still think is a great bball program.

          • I’m hardly gloating over UCLA’s 3 – 3 record. But given Clown U’s current last place record of 1 – 5 I can understand your frustration. SUCChag,

          • You’re the loser who spends team on a rival’s blog so I’m guessing there’s some more frustration in your life than mine. I know all the matters to you clowns is outperforming SC even if that means failing to meet preseason expectations and no actual championships being won.

  1. Over the years SC basketball has taught me a couple of things about humility and the idea borne by Willie Davis: “It’s not your life, it’s not your wife, so why worry.”

  2. Andy Andy would improve his team today if he benched Katin. Katin doesn’t play great defense. He is a greedy ball hog who has never seen a shot he didn’t like or a pass that he did.

But in general this team has take the higher percentage shots– whether penetrating or having their big men shoot more.

Basketball doesn’t change- it’s high percentage shots close to the basket and open shots, and passing, movement, picks and rebounds to get them.

Kids don’t get that. They think they get more points for degree of difficulty in taking shots. They think defense is keeping their man from scoring. And they think its better to make a contested jump shot than to take and make an easy shot or a free throw.

But there is no excuses for coaches who lose the plot. Andy Andy has to go ASAP!

    • I live in Las Vegas, and UNLV fans (even though they stink this year) don’t miss Katin at all.
