USC Moves Up To No. 2 In Recruiting Rankings

USC moved up one spot to No. 2 nationally in Rivals.com’s recruiting rankings. Florida State dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 after a decommitment. At this point, the Trojans seem poised to have the No. 1 class.

  1. USC’s been #2 for awhile on Rivals. They’ll need 4-5 5-stars to the list to jump Alabama.

    • It takes a day or two to get to Scott’s computer screen. He is still plugging in his phone line, firing up the old Apple IIc, with his Prodigy service.

          • Carload’s,what is an abacus and how do break it? Peck, peck, peck, I’ll be waiting for an answer.

          • A sock puppet forced to use a badly written Woodpecker, peck, peck, peck script.

What is an Abacus, Socks? Woodpecker got caught using words he doesn’t know what they mean. What’s new. Oh, what is innuendo?

          • Im sorry. I have no idea what you are trying to say. You speak differently. Please elaborate.

            Thanks in advance.

            Your friend,

            Juan Carlos.

          • You’ve got the Sock puppet dummy bit down pat. What is an abacus, what is innuendo? Peck, peck, peck.

          • Snappy dialogue Woodpecker.

I see you’ve created another mentally challenged personally (Dood the Dood) with sole job of “aksing” – whatever that may be in soft jello brain of yours. You’ve got a ring in your nose it’s not hard to lead and frustrate your petty intellect.

Do you use Dood the Dood persona dialogue when you ride a bus. I bet you’ve got act mindless and you ride free skit down to a tee.

            What is Innuendo? You know.

          • Hi. Thank you for your long thought out reply. I’m sure it took a fair amount of your personal time to type that for me. Thank you.

            You are nice blog person.

            Your friend,

            Juan Carlos.

          • And SUCLA recruiting? It appears you’d have to bring in some street bums to fill the roster. Got any better ideas, SUCCer? LOL!!!

          • Not many people question Sark’s ability to recruit. What is still in question, however, is whether he and his current staff know how to coach that talent beyond Sark’s “median range” of 7-9 wins per year. Only time will tell.

          • Interesting that UCLA is moving from their bread-and-butter scrambling QB style to a pocket passer in Rosen. How many years will it take Mora to recover if this turns out to be the wrong decision?

          • Rosen actually can run, it’s just that he needs to learn to drop his shoulders and stay low. He’s certainly not a classic “dual threat” like Hundley or Mariota, but he actually does have some wheels. Obviously, if Rosen wins the job as a true freshman (see MB), Mazzone will need to simplify the playbook with more dependence upon the run (Perkins returns as the #1 P12 rusher) and play-action. Sometimes you get the AAA talent and tweak your O toward the strengths of that individual (as the Bruins did with BH).

          • Yeah, Mora won’t know what to do with a pocket passer. In 20 years coaching in the NFL, he never saw one.

Many USC fans like to run Rosen down, which makes them look silly. Like it or not, Rosen and Barnett are the consensus top two in So. Cal. in 2015. Things may look different in two years, but not right now.

          • Rosen better be good enough to start for you and even if he is, he’ll hurt your team a lot next season. Maybe Jerry’s your guy. And if he is, he’ll hurt your team a lot too. Either way, it won’t be easy, regardless of your other talent.

          • Hey spitball the impotent has reared his ugly head. Spitball couldn’t do cotton candy.

          • Awww, somebody’s jealous of their rivals no. 2 ranking. Don’t cry. To bad ucla websites jump the gun and say they got a commitment when they really didn’t. That’s fu**ing hilarious, and pathetic.

          • The old anti-Clown U jealous bit. For the last two weeks SUCCdumb has been screaming Clown U #1 recruiting class – even 2/4/2015 is week away. UCLA has 18 returning Vets, and I couldn’t care less where Clown U, a 2nd tier college finishes in FB recruiting.

Your lousy FB team finished 9 – 4 and got slapped around 38 -20 by UCLA, UCLA beat Clown U’s Balkan WP team for the NC, and SUCC BB is an eye popping 1 – 6 in the Pac-12 hole. The SUCC Hospital recently got a D+ for hospital operation. Unless you’re suffering a gunshot wound, why would anybody go there.

Therefore who cares where SUCC’s 2015 loser FB recruiting class is rated.

Sark couldn’t coach his 2015 recruits to win a Pee Wee FB game.

          • That’s an awful lot of words to come out of a little cry babies mouth. Some many that I’m not going to even read what you have to say. Cryyy baby!

          • Yeah a couple of paragraphs. You can’t read except for this: KMA saspool

          • Damn!!! That’s harsh. Wow, I’m sorry. Take your ball and go home to your own site. My wittle baby! KMA back to ya my wittle girl.

          • SUCCster’s are the one’s take their immaculately clean FB and go home to Mommy or the help sas pool. Are you enrolled in SUCC ROTC?

          • saspool I wasn’t aware you appointed yourself a Hot Box Burrito judge. Nobody in there right mind would consider you for anything on the first shift.

          • TrojanBob5, no offense but this is none of your business. That dude will not mind his own business. He starts crap everyday. So I will ask you nicely, stay out of this one.

          • Ugly rents the rose bowl, I know what an abacus is. That is a device where Johnny Cheeti’ Wooden would use to count the money that Sam Gilbert was giving out to the ugly bball players. This was used before Excel spreadsheets. He would slide wooden balls, just like yours, on a metal pole up and down to count and then after going past 10, they would slide another one at top to keep the count of 10, 100, 100’s, 1000’s. The problem with the abacus with Johnny Cheetin’ wooden was, that they did not have enough wooden balls to keep track of the money that was being passed from Sam Gilbert to Johnny Cheetin’ Wooden. HAR HAR HAR. Schooled you once again. U Croaches Lose Again. LMAO.

    • Nah, they don’t. Bama has who it has. USC simply needs to sign the 4 heavy USC leans who everyone thinks they will sign. USC is almost a lock to be #1

    • It would be great to be #1. But finishing with Marshall, Green, Houston, and Gustin is all that matters.

      • Very funny. Good luck saspool. Clown U needs some help – no doubt about it.

          • I trying hard to tell you I DON’T CARE. I don’t give krap what SUCC does as long as they continue to lose.

If you surpass ALA. recruiting wise, it’s not going help Clown U or provide an advantage in 2015.

SUCC’s advantage is they’re scheduled to play just 10 games, while the rest of the Pac-12 has to play 12. FSR’ing.

          • Yeah you do care. This is your life. USC FOOTBALL IS YOUR LIFE. Your fake a** bruin fan who spends his time on a Trojan site. Your obviously in love with SC. You’re not a bruin. You’re more Trojan than anything because you don’t no sh** about your own team!!!

          • This is an excellent observation. If USC were to beat UCLA, then would UGLA owns LA football have any purpose in life?

            Interesting observation sas.

          • LOL. “I DON’T CARE” he says, all the while spending every free moment on the USC site. Please prove to us you don’t care. LOL. Or, grow up and discuss like an adult.

  2. We will have a great class regardless of if we are 1-4…That being said it would sure be exciting to have #1.What won’t be reflected in the rankings are the 1-2 young men who might blue shirt.. 4stars..they would be counted as 2016..yet practice come Aug 2.

  3. take a knee, wolflman, i GOT THIS!!!!

#1 TE Chris Clark’s tweet from Michigan visit:
“Man this snow stinks take me back to Cali”

sorry Harbaugh!!! this kid is no Dummy!!!

    Buhhhhhh-BAM!!!!!

    • It would be funny if it was another swing and miss for SUCLA.. HA! Thanks for making signing day even more exciting or disappointing for SUCLAMES

  4. No doubt Sark and Co. are doing a phenomenal job. But once again–as I posted in another topic–ESPN has USC #6, and passing #1 Alabama will be a tough hurdle to clear. Bama has an unheard of 20 Top 300 players, 3 five-stars, and 24 out of 27 recruits at four-star or better. That’s compared to SC’s 12 Top 300 guys, 0 five-stars, and 14 four-stars.

    • Perhaps USC will pass Alabama in some parallel world…here on earth, it would take a two-sigma event of unexpected decommitments down South, and USC batting a thousand.

Serious question re Rosen. I read that he’s FB smart, just plain smart (Ivy League parents), great arm, great mechanics, nimble afoot, and on and on. Ex-USC staff member Yogi Roth commented: “This is what Troy Aikman must have looked like in HS.” That’s some high praise.

Stanford could have had him…but didn’t pull the trigger.

      USC didn’t give hard pursuit.

What’s up with that? Are they just stupid?

      • Certainly not stupid. The kid has bled blue and gold since he was in diapers, so I think SC just realized it’s best to hunt elsewhere (obviously with great results, with Browne & Town). I imagine Stanford followed the same line of reasoning.

        • Actually, as a junior, he said that his first choice was Stanford. Maybe his Ivy parents were just pressuring him, but that’s what he stated publicly.

          • Probably. I just know that at the Stanford camp Ricky Town got an offer. Rosen wanted one bad and didn’t get one for whatever reason. I remember it was a big issue at the time. Plus they already have Keller Chryst.

          • Chryst couldn’t really have been a main reason. They offered Town, right?

Interesting puzzle, and Stanford may regret their decision down the road.

EncinitasBruin may well be right that USC wasn’t aggressive because Rosen didn’t show real interest, and they could see that he preferred UCLA, between the local schools. It happens.

          • Rosen and Town were the top priority for the staff at the beginning of the recruiting cycle. When Town decommitted and chose SC, Rosen lost all interest and SC had their guy. Later SC went after Darnold who is a more spread type of qb who can run, and throw.

  5. Alabama has 20 of the top 300 footballers in the country with several 5-stars’ jocks.

SC has 12 with no 5-stars

SUCLA has 5 with no 5-stars

So how will this play out on the field?

    • Too logical, John. Don’t focus on what might be important. This is about the madness of crowds.

    • That means that out of 128 FBS teams, Alabama has nearly 7% of the nation’s top recruits. Crazy.

    • Its been okay under CMora so far, don’t see how that changes when your current coach has loss twice already vs CMora, what happens to #Sark if he loses againg, that’s the real question… .

  6. Still USC will have back to back #1 classes in the pac12. That’s where it all starts. Ask good ole Pete Carroll.

    • Can you see it, saspool clutches Little Petey’s Pom-Pom’s knee while absorbing the wisdom of Cheaty Petey.

I wonder what Little Petey will say when saspool asks about Petey’s loss to Stanford, a 41 point dog at the mausoleum.

Or if Clown U cheated, how come Little Petey didna know squat?

      • Little Petey Won 2 National Titles, didn’t he? Was it cheating when Bush was running all over the Bruins on his way to Orange bowl, National Title? Damn, your funny. Or should you be on the little yellow short bus wearing a helmet.

        • 1/2 an AP cheap shot 2003 – 04 selection. We’re done saspool. Fantasy FB NC’s are not tolerated. See ya saspool.

          • You do? Well maybe if you take all the 1/3 shared #1 trophies you might get 3.3333 whole trophies, how do you share one #1 trophy??

          • Saspool is laughing because he shares titles with Colgate, Detroit, Cornell and about 25 more programs, is Colgate still around, Saspool how do you feel about landing a lot of 5* and still manage to lose in November to The Mighty Bruins?? Saspool how do you split one #1 trophy with four other teams and who gets the bigger piece.. .

            #SarkIsYourCoach

          • Transy in Westwood……please I’m begging you to tell me, how many National Titles do ya have? How old are you, never mind I don’t care, but have you been alive to experience the Ruins win anything meaningful? Don’t lie. Unless your an elderly man from the day of black and white tv’s than you can’t say you’ve witnessed the Ruins win something important. Keep chiming in with your little Transy comments. Be honest with yourself, do you really think you will something before USC? LOL. USC is starting to stack the type of kids that won all those Orange, Rose, Bowls, Natty’s, etc. Come on pal. You’ll shoot you’re eye out!!! SC will be on top before sucks!!! We’re do!

          • Silly Saspool, which of the “11” 1/3 shared titles do you want to talk about? Is Colgate still around.. .

            #SarkIsYourCoach

          • Silly Transy, u can take away 1,or 2, or 3 and we still have waaaaaay more National Titles than you! Again, don’t try to out think me your just gonna hurt yourself!

          • 16 yrs of BCS/Champeenship games, und not VUN Crystal Ball for trojinks!!

            ACCCCKKKKK!!!
            (zis is der CHOKINK zound!!!)

            AH! AH! AH!

            #TotalFailure

          • Count Smakula you must be on CRACKula! 11, count them 11 National Titles! Put that in yo pipe and smoke it. Ummm….. taste good! 11 National Titles. How many you got? Don’t try out think me your just gonna hurt yaself! Mind ya business and stay off that CRACK!

          • Owns, you keep repeating this false fact. Just check under AP football national champions and it will state that SC won that version of the national title in both 2003 and 2004. And as you well know Troy came within one play of being a 3-years in a row champion, something never done in college football in the modern era.

Your hatred for SC, or whatever it is that motivates you so, has blinded you to most objectivity. But so be it.

  7. No. 1, 2, 3 or 4 doesn’t matter. If USC closes strong, that’s all that matters and they will, especially with the use of blue shirt recruiting.

  8. Alabama pulled in the # 1 ranked recruiting class the last 4 years, but they looked very average in the playoffs, so these rankings mean NOTHING. And especially when you have one of the worst coaching staffs in the Pac 12, and your head coach has zero leadership skills.
