Morning Buzz: Is USC Hosting Two NFL Teams?

NFL.STADIUM

USC AD Pat Haden told a class Wednesday night that he believed there would be two NFL teams in Los Angeles in 2016. And now we have the announcment of the Chargers and Raiders, which may or may not happen. But if it did, USC would be more than happy to host both teams at the Coliseum in 2016.

Again, the question is how USC’s renovated Coliseum will match up to the structure above, which looks about as fan friendly as Staples Center.

    • What’s happening with our once proud basketball team. Will probably miss the tourney. I think my daughter could shoot better than Alford’s kid.

      • Didn’t Same Gilbert leave a Trust for all of those cheating coaches and the players?

          • +_+, that is the funnies thing I have ever heard. Why would I be jealous of a cheater and a lier? BTW, do you say prayers for the souls of Johnny Cheetin’ Wooden and Sam Gilbert? They might still be in purgatory.

    • State of the art compared to the one in the arroyo. Excuse me, except for the delux golf course parking of course.

      • Hilarious. You can slap all the lipstick on the pig that you want, but the neighborhood surrounding both the Coli and SC is both scary and creepy. Was just near SC a few days ago, and was literally terrified to get out of my car alone. A guy was throwing up in a nearby alley where I parked, and I’m pretty sure I heard gunfire nearby.

It’s a joke how you think playing in that pit of a Mausoleum is better than playing in beautiful Arroyo Seco and tailgating on Brookside Golf Course.

Don’t even try to win that comparision.

        Rose Bowl > Mausoleum

        • it is more dangerous going to a U Cockroaches of L.A. game while walking through the crowd than walking through the crowd at the Coli. Do you remember the cockroach that stabbed a USC fan?

          • You are embarrassing yourself. Trying to compare a stroll across bucolic Brookside Golf Course to a walk along Jefferson Blvd is ludicrous.

          • I have yet to hear of a stabbing down at the Coli while a game was going on but I am sure there are exceptions such as the U Cockroaches Of L.A. and show up and stab USC fans. But it did happen at an ugly game, which makes it more dangerous than going to the Coli.

          • You stupid blind SOB, I suppose you never never saw the video of the son and dad thug team wearing usc jersey doing the stabbing? You ignorant POS.

          • Hey magnus scumbag, go to the school for the blind and try and learn brail. Bonehead, don’t pull the revisionist stuff. It is unbecoming of you. a ThUg U or U Cockraoch of Losers Always fan pulled the knife and did the stabbing, bonehead, Now go back to the Helen Keller school for the blind and learn something.

          • You’re as ignorant as they come. A Bruin, or Bruin fan was not even involved in the fight, the victims were students of UC Irvine, they were playing catch with the football. when one of the throws went astray and it hit a vehicle owned by the USC fans, they had a cow because their car got ahead and started the fight, and did the stabbing, UCLA fan was involved. AGain you are as ignorant as they come.

          • magnus annus, the dude from UC IRVINE, your cousins, in the uc system threw a football. dude did not know how to throw a football? Genious, that reminds of that dude that played for Thug U back in the early 2000’s. It is one of your cousins. Aren’t you getting tired of being schooled?

          • the only thing that UCLA and UC Irvine have in common is that they are both ranked ahead of the University of South Central in the academic rankings.

I also find it hilarious that you would called UCLA thug u considering you’ve had 42 players arrested in the last decade.

you must be the official troll baiter in this blog, because I am yet to read one of your posts with any substance whatsoever. you are stupid as they come.

          • name all 42. How about the players that have been arrested or had anything to do with the police that are associated with ugly? You have a bunch of them as well. No, you do have something in common, Drew Olson and the guy from UC Irvine can’t throw.

  1. Good news, the NFL is coming back to town. The bad news, the Raiders may be coming back to town.
Why won’t one of the teams go and use the beautiful Rose Bowl with it’s easy access and luxurious golf course parking, excellent seats with great views of the game. HAWR HAWR NOT!!

    • Raiders fans invading the wine and brie crowd of Arroyo Seco…. talk about a culture clash…..

      • The problem is, no one shows up for the U Cockroaches of L.A game and no one will show up for the Raiders. That is how the citizens that live around the RoseBowl like it.

        • You are publicly humiliating yourself with your breathtaking ignorance: UCLA led the Pac 12 in attendance this year! I am a native Pasadenan, and you are an embarrassment to the city. Where were you born?

UCLA attendance > Clown college attendance

          • What part of Pasadena? Likewise so do I. now when you have to give away tickets or sell them in Coctco, that is a hurting. In the star news a couple of years ago they were giving away tickets. Nothing changed.

  2. Bad news for our recruiting, area kids will grow up wanting to be Raiders or Chargers
Chargers = Bruins. Both almost won a big game in 1994.

    • Hopefully the Rams will come back home and displace anyone other team wanting to be L.A. The Raiders are the scum of the NFL, Chargers not so bad, got started in L.A.

  3. Dream on, Pat. They won’t even want to borrow the Colli for a season. If they did, it would be a parking disaster and the student body would hate you.

  4. Re: Stadium-
It is time for SC to do what it takes to get a new stadium, even if whole Coliseum is leveled. What do you think happens if UCLA moves to the new stadium? At the time Pauley was built, SC was way ahead in BB series. They had Pauley and Sam Gilbert and began to dominate the sport.. SC may be the only school that could set a financial goal of raising the Monet necessary to build a new state of the art stadium and could get it done. We can move to the new NFL stadium during construction. We should not underestimate the advantages SC has had in academic fundraising because of our athletic programs. Let’s get the best college stadium in the country. Build it and they will come.

  5. Nah, they shouldn’t play next to USC in Expo. Park. Maybe they shouid play in Westwood….oh wait, that is only an 80 yard field, DOH!!!! IF they play in the Rose Bowl, they will be closer to the stadium than the bRuins with their hour commute.

    • You can’t win this comparison, so don’t even try. SC and the Coli are in one of the creepiest, scariest parts of LA, surrounded by grime, smog, and concrete.

You are trying to compare that atmosphere to playing in historic Pasadena in the lovely Arroyo Seco, and tailgating on picturesque Brookside Golf Course?! Laughable.

I was a student at UCLA when we moved from the Coli to the RB, and NO ONE was disappointed. We CELEBRATED to be away from that terrible, ugly environment.

      RB > Coli

      • And no one has shown up to see U Cockroaches of L.a. at the rose bowl. HAR HAR HAR LMAO

  6. Anyone but the thieving Rams – they ran away from LA to Anaheim but made sure they kept ‘Los Angeles’ as their name brand. They plundered St. Louis to pay for their re-location, training center, office and best of all a (1995) brand new stadium to the tune of a mere $1 billion. Now in true ganef fashion the Rams have found their loophole to abandon St. Louis and come back to southern CA.

Goodell has seen the power an owner that also owns a stadium can wield in Jerry Jones and the Cowboys – that Kroencke deal was fast tracked because Kroencke ‘knew’ the Carson deal was impending.

Anyone but the pathetic thieving Rams any team but them.

Funny how the City of Anaheim never had a problem with Rams calling themselves ‘Los Angeles’ but went to court to prevent the Angels from using the same

    Screw the Rams

    • Blame it on Georgia Frontiere. I always liked the Rams but that woman ruined the team and ran off to St Louis.

Who can forget the Fearsome 4some and Roman Gabriel, Jack Snow and the rest of those guys. What a travesty she was. I am sure Carroll Rosenbloom would love to have THAT decision back. He probably would have lived longer.

      • Wrong on Carroll Rosenbloom – he’s the one who first ran off to Orange County because of his disdain and fear of south-central. All ‘The madame’ did was roll the dice another time along with her flunky Shaw to move the ‘ewes’ to Saint Louis.

I hope Kronecke is stuck in MO – ‘blank’ the Rams – they were always a lousy team in a great city – mediocrity was their sole skill set. ‘Blank’ the Rams.
