USC Morning Buzz: More Wins For Football Than Basketball?

"1227_SPT_LDN_L-USC-NEBRASKA-WL"I posed a question last week: Who would win more games? Andy Enfield this season or Steve Sarkisian next season? Sarkisian won with 53 percent while Enfield got only 28 percent of the votes. You would think basketball might have more votes with the Washington schools (10th and 11 in the Pac-12) coming to the Galen Center this week.

And it means readers overwhelmingly think USC will won more than 10 football games next season. That means a 10-2 or 11-1 record heading into a Pac-12 championship game. And an appearance in the College Football Playoff.

That means no hiccups and high expectations for the Trojans. So it demonstrates readers think the chances of Enfield beating even mediocre teams is less than Sarkisian avoiding letdowns.

  1. Classic Scott Wolf “reporting”……no other sports writer in America would even waste their time thinking up this sort of drivel…..oh, and was it a question or a poll, Scott?……..it’s clear that this troll bait is intended to feed your need to make up this schtick….

    • Which is it Red, SUCC claims the #1 Recruiting class or is SUCC’s claim worthless self promotion and “…mean absolutely nothing.”

  2. Wolfie finally explains the complex dynamics of voter psych. Who would have ever guessed such stunning analysis was available?

  3. Or maybe, Scott, the readers who responded to the poll just love football and don’t care about basketball. Maybe they think football “will won” (Nice English right there) more games than the total of posts you make without a grammar error….

    • SUCC FB has scheduled only 10 games in 2015. SUCC wants to be fresh when they watch the two teams in the Pac-12 Championship.

    • Wins 5 : 2-0 vs patsies, then 3 vs UW Berkeley and Boulder
Possible Losses 4 : vs Kevin Hogan, @ASU (again), Utah (again) and Arizona
Losses 3 : @ND if Kelly plays their first string, @Oregon and of course v Mora

      • It was pretty hilarious watching Mariota and Winston being interviewed on the NFL Network while sporting Under Armour gear… they looked very uncomfortable and even went as far as to say that they would be giving away their gear to their family members…..such is the nature of today’s league versus universities, with the players caught in the middle of these high stakes endorsement deals…

  4. USC will lose to Stanford, Oregon, Arizona State and UCLA, just because those schools have better coaching from top to bottom.

    • Yup. It’s not about the brand, but about the coaching. One just has to look at Ohio St. or Alabama.

      • I will bet any amount of money you both are WRONG – 2 losses at MOST this year! What did the Man do to you to get you so down?

        #StopBeingAHater,orGoSeeWang

    • If we went by coaching alone…..USC goes no better than 2-10 next year. No team on USC’s schedule has to worry about being out-coached

  5. The better and still lingering question:
Will USC beat UCLA in ANY men’s sport this season? So far the answer is still NO after UCLA pounded the higher ranked SC men’s volleyball team yesterday. Even the sport that SC is now known for, Water polo went down to the Bruins. Maybe SC is a tennis school now.

    • The only thing still lingering around here is the stench of UCLA trolls….Can we get some Febreze in here, Scott?

      • Bow in servitude, Dumb-ass, UCLA OWNS your worthless school!

And the so called Trolls, (aka the Cadre) owns this blog! Deal with it!

        (how was that?)

        • About as childish as we’ve all learned to expect from the trolls…. you’re clearly a welcome addition to the cadre…..

          • “Sandra has a passionate concern that books contribute to making this world a better place,” yet she trolls USC sports blogs calling Trojans names – You are out of your league around here lady, you will be leaving in tears, trust me.

          • Yes, I am out of my league. But it behooves one to stoop once in a while, so that one appreciates the dreadful nature of some blogs. I am only visiting the League of Obtuse Men. When my satchel is full of Trojan testes, I will leave. But not until then. Thank you for your contribution.

          • I went there for Grad school yes. but living on the Westside for many years I have come to appreciate the slendor, the majesty of UCLA Bruins family. So you might say they adopted me.

  6. One thing is clear here– Even after the negative feedback Scott got after rolling out this poll last week, he was unfazed, and has rehashed it.

Ol’ Wolf does not care what anybody thinks, probably to his detriment

  7. AWESOME explication of the POLL data, wolfman!!!
you strive to uncover something the Dummies fear most……the TRUTH!!!

it appears the Dummies are fight a three-front war: their own crappy teams, the wolfman and the Cadre!!!!

don’t worry, Dummies, the CADRE will be there at the end to SCATTER THE PIECES!!!

  8. even Sark can get 10 wins with that schedule next season…..no power house BC to get in his way. then again, he is Sark….I would never bet money on it
