I think that was decided 5 years ago.
I don’t remember anything definitive. Maybe McNair knew something after the fact and did or did not tell anybody. What do you know Helen?

After 1978’s national championship team and the 1979 almost champions, SC was mired in mediocrity until Carroll appeared on the scene, and in his second year he had probably the best team in the nation in 2002, won titles in 2003 and 2004, almost won again in 2005, and had great teams in 2006 and 2007.
What a run– one of the greatest in football history. And i was there all the way for nearly every big road game, and what a ride it was.
So, yeah, thanks for the memories, Mr. Pete. And congrats on your SC degree.

Dear Paralegal…..I can understand why you react the way you do. Usc is an embarrassment to all educational institutions…Widney is BAD enough…throw in Cromwell, and don’t forget about VonKleinschmidt (more on him later)…and you gotta wonder how/why Usc exists in the first place.

Why should Pete Carroll be held accountable for Reggie Bush being a sneaky sly chump ? Carroll wasn’t responsible for Bush and his Parents when they were planning illegal NCAA things down in San Diego . No Coach can monitor things like that, so yes, Pete deserves an honorary degree from USC, and especially for the things he has done to better the LA community .
