USC Defeats Washington!

A big crowd of 5,529 showed up tonight ($1 hot dogs, popcorn) and USC beat Washington, 70-55, at the Galen Center.

“We should have more conference wins right now,” Coach Andy Enfield said. “We’re competing. We’re getting better.”

The current measure of improvement is that USC has won three conference games (3-14). Last year the Trojans won two (2-16) so I guess Enfield is right that USC is better.

Point guard Jordan McLaughlin underwent surgery on his right shoulder. Once it recovers, he is scheduled to have a similar operation on his left shoulder. McLaughlin’s shoulders repeatedly popped out of the sockets this season.

  1. it’s all coming down to the game in Pauley on Wed…..

Bruins NEED the win to lock in their ticket to the Tourney!!

and it would probably be HELPFUL if we DESTROY the trOXans with EXTREME PREJUDICE!!!

So will Southern Cal MAN UP and put up a FIGHT??? or will they lay down and serve as a RED CARPET leading us to the BIG DANCE????

    my Prediction: Paaaaaaaaaaaaain!!!!

  2. This guy was a gamble, he’s out of his league in the Pac12 – tell him it’s time, he can take his plastic trojan mascot and leave the wife behind.

  3. Wooo! I know sad days are coming when we’re sitting home after UGLY takes out its mediocrity on us, and March is just the month that comes before April. 3 conference wins… On the other hand, if Katin gets injured we might just improve a little more.

The secret is, that Enfield doesn’t know talent and keeps the best players benched and the worst players are given a green light for 30% shooting. A new coach could do wonders with this program.

    • KR didn’t start so there is that. He is actually a bigger disappointment than JMac. Terrible shooting percentage. Lopsided assist to turnover ratio. Your are never going to have a consistently winning program relying on other program’s discards.

    • SUCLA losses in football are always normal, and its wins are always highly abnormal. LOL!!!

      • What have you been watching the last couple of years? Back to back 10 win seasons are just the beginning for UCLA because not only do they have better talent since Mora took over, they have the better coaching staff. usc will continue to flounder because Sark stinks as a coach and is nothing more than a used car salesman. Enjoy your first 2 cupcakes next season, it’s going to be a long year after that. Cheers!

        • UGLY had talent under Neuheisal. I understand that beating USC is all that UGLY cares about, but Mora hasn’t won anything significant yet. Not saying he wont, but to think he’s a great coach at this point is just wishful thinking.

          • You just proved my point. Neuheisel had talent, but he couldn’t beat usc because he sucked as a coach. Facts are facts: Since Mora has been at UCLA, usc has not been competitive on the field against UCLA. This is incredibly surprising because as everyone knows your 85 were better than everyone else’s 75. RIGHT?

LOL. Beating usc used to be a big deal. That’s just not good enough anymore. But hey, whatever helps you sleep at night. Keep telling yourself that.

          • If beating USC isnt good enough, then why are the gutties pounding their chests? Mora hasn’t done anything else at UGLY besides losing to Oregon and Stanford a bunch of times.

          • fotv, what does UCLA winning and losing to Oregon and Stanford have to do with UCLA trouncing Klown U 38 – 20; the third consecutive Klown U. loss by double digits?

After you’re explaining Klown U’s three straight UCLA losses, explain the the “Boston Massacre,” and the Klown U “Unfinished Bidness” 7 – 6 NCAA record season.

And fotv, if you feel like it, explain why Klown U had FOUR (4) Head Football Coaches in less then a year.

Do you think the Klown U BB team will get an NCAA Tournament Invitation – I mean 3 – 14 in conf. certainly deserves recognition?

          • We were ineligible from playing in bowl games yet both programs are sitting here after the sanctions with the same amount of conference titles and major bowl appearances in that span. What are you so happy about?

  4. USC beat the 2nd-worst team in the Pac-12; a team without its two best players. Wow. What an unbelievable and remarkable victory for USC! We should be so proud. Right?

    • Yup, as SW pointed out you can’t argue Andy’s comment that they are getting better with 1 more win than last year. Somehow, I just not feeling the euphoria…

  5. Trojans, finish strong, try to do some damage in the Conf. Tourny. Hope there is some big time gelling with this coach and his players or he has to go next year.

  6. Reinhardt has shot 50% or better in only one or two games this season, and yet he puts the ball up more than anybody else i.e. 3 for 13 last night.

    What is with this guy?

SUCLA needs the SC victory Wednesday in the worst way, because they won’t be a play-in team to get in the tournament without that win. And even vanquishing the Trojans, a last place team, is no guarantee SUCLA will get in.

    • Hey Walnut, UCLA has a better chance of making the tournament than Klown U. SUCC BB’s all time Tournament record (1880 – 2015) = 11 – 19. In-stinking-credible!

      • SUCLA CLOWNS LA Football: Well, kiddo, you got me there. It has been painful to be an SC basketball fan over the years, although the Trojans have had their moments i.e. the Baby Jordan early ’90s and the Clancy & Boys’ teams of the early 2000s

        • And Arizona has 1 win in their entire history. SC NONE. Stick to football, JW. Your argument is stronger on that side of the ledger.

      • Hey, ugly rents the rose bowl, worry about Thug U’s team. Who replaced Gilbert as money bags? No one. Sind you have not bought players, you can’t buy a championship. Don’t worry, you won’t win one this year as well.

  7. Congratulations Trojans. I want to point out that for all of the jokes and funny comments, we have more in common than this continuous banter indicates. We both went to college in LA (although we are in a much better part of LA), many of us went to high school together (although we had to do far better in high school to get into UCLA) and we both follow sports (although you haven’t beaten us in your “signature” sport in three years and we have beaten you in EVERY men’s sport so far this academic year). As far as academics, well, both of our school names start with a “U”. See, lots in common so let’s not let the fun banter turn into something negative or nasty, OK, bros?

  8. Everyone missed the real story. Wolfie too. SC baseball beat the baskeball team to 11 wins! Baseball did it earlier in the day.

BTW, SC fans need to stop chatting with the bruin hopeful. I don’t go around talking to the mud under my shoes, why should you?
