USC Quote Of The Week

USC coach Steve Sarkisian was on the Rich Eisen radio show this week: “I just don’t want to stub our toe anymore. We stubbed our toe a couple times last year. We didn’t play our best football. Most notably, against UCLA. We didn’t play a very good football game. We didn’t play to our capability.”

  1. Until you upgrade your staff & let someone who is capable call the plays, USC will stub their toe 3-4 times a year, no matter how much talent you amass.

    • Per CoachingSearchDOTcom Sark leads all FBS play callers over the last 4 years 2011-2014.

  2. If sarkisian continues to do the “lane kiffin thing” and call the offensive plays next year, then they will stub their toes. A head coach’s job is to manage the game, not act as a coordinator.

  3. C’mon Sark! You had a banner year! 8 regular season wins! Seven Win Steve has such a nice ring to it though. Don’t worry, you’ll hit that number next year, Stevie Boy!

  4. Ok. Sark still has a lot to prove. That’s no secret. But Ucla fans….you guys are priceless. You act as if Moran is worthy of your praise. He’s undefeated against his rival. I have no argument on that issue. Now let’s dig a little deeper. A Sun, Holiday, and Alamo bowl appearances. That’s amazing. He should have his own statue. With an 0-7 record against Oregon and Stanford. He’s reached the mountain top. 8 craps all around. Wow. He’s accomplished more than any bruin fan had ever hoped. If I were yall I’d be FURIOUS that Morans statue hasn’t been put next to all the other “great” bruin coaches of the past who have won countless conference titles, Rose Bowls, and “National Titles”. Not to mention his honesty. He’s a stand up guy. Really down to earth with kids. (See Roquan Smith) But seriously the reality is that your “3 years of dominating college football” Lol. Because all you trolls act as if you been riding a dynasty. Well that 3 year dynasty is over! 8 Craps all around. FIGHT ON✌️

    • Mora = No Boston Massacre = 10 – 3 2014 season.

Sark = The Architect of the Boston Massacre and the Az St. Hail Mary Loss = 9 – 4 2014 season

UCLA 38 – 20 = UCLA owns LA Football, Dem’s the facts Saspool.

      • 38-20 and a 3 game win streak are facts. I hate those. A couple of facts to mention. We have beaten Oregon and Stanford. Even Kiffin can put a win over Oregon on his resume.

      • Very true. I was referring to the fact that we have beaten some credible programs during our sanctions.

  5. The UCLA game was more of a concussion than a stubbed toe. But I expect his boys to close out those close ones and start to take it to the Bruins. A couple of beat downs on the Bruins and Mora will hit the road.

  6. I prefer Sark not talk crap and make excuses for losses. That’s Bruin territory. Let’s win four in a row and laugh at UCLA again, only having to point to the score board.

        • look, Helen, it time to face the facts.

we all loved Wahhn Carloads even DESPITE his cruel and incessant mockery of immigrants.

i mean, EVERYONE knows only native English speakers are smart!! sure our culture is based on the English, Italians, Greeks and French, but WE gave the world REALITY TV!!

but he’s gone, Helen, and he ain’t coming back.. time to let it go. you keep bringing him up and it’s not helping anyone

damn it…hey, you think this isn’t tearing me up TOO?????

          #GoodbyeWahhhn

  7. Why didn’t you play well Steve? Because UCLA was superior in every way except talent. It’s called coaching.

  8. Sarkisian, the Coaching Staff “stubbed” its Toe’s more than anything else !

Better Play-Calling, Better Defensive Schemes and “Pre-Game” preparation is what is needed most !!

    BETTER ALL AROUND COACHING !!!

    • Really? In Sarkisian’s first year at USC, the Trojans led the nation in red zone touchdown rate at 75.4 percent in 2014. Quote from CoachingSearchDOTcom

  9. The post is missing at least a sentence of analysis. Are you now a big Sark guy? Accepting the statement with support? Or are you making fun of him? Regardless, you’ve got to make that last step – otherwise, you’re just quoting Eisen’s show.
