Marshawn Lynch Speaks On Super Bowl, So What Does It Mean?

Seattle Seahawks tailback Marshawn Lynch finally spoke about the Super Bowl . . . on Turkish television. Yahoo dug up the video. And he spoke about the controversial last play. I feel like his comments back up a theory we wrote about four weeks ago that Petros Papadakis espoused regarding Pete Carroll wanting Russell Wilson to be the hero.

Money quote: “I had no problem with the decision of the play-calling. I mean, you know … I think it was more of a … how do I say this? When you look at me, and you let me run that ball in … I am the face of the nation. You know, MVP of the Super Bowl … that’s pretty much the face of the nation at that point of time,” Lynch said. “I mean, maybe it was a good thing that I didn’t get the ball. I mean, you know, it cost us the Super Bowl. I mean, I have full … I have full confidence in my teammates to execute that plan because we’ve done it so many more times. But would I love to had the ball in? Yes, I would have.”

Do you agree that Lynch seems to say maybe Carroll did not want him to be MVP?

  1. We have all thought the same thing Wolf. It was decided what play to run, get the right guys in, don’t call time out, decide who would be MVP, then run the play all in under 25 seconds. Your as smart as Lynch is Wolf.

  2. No Carroll got cocky and flashy. It cost them a super bowl. He called a dumb play. It had nothing to with the mvp.

    • Or could it be that Pete got cocky and flashy after the success of Lynch’s 4 yard run on first down? He could have thought he had the luxury on 2nd and goal at the one to pass the ball, deny Lynch the glory and give it to Wilson. Could it be he was thinking that at worst an incomplete pass on 2nd down would stop the clock, they could still run it on 3rd down, use the last time out if they didn’t score and run or pass it on 4th down if needed? He may not have anticipated the interception as a possibility because he believed Wilson would throw the ball away if he read the defense and saw that the play wasn’t there. Maybe this is all about Pete taking one for his quarterback.

    • And Klown U is all excited and can’t wait to issue Little Petey Chipmunk an Honorary degree.

        • .5 NC’s – SUCC 2003 – 04 AP; LSU 2003 -04 BCS. Saspool, you can’t claim a whole NC based on a half AP voted selection unless you’re sh*tfaced.

          • Again with your technicalities. The whole football world will forever recognize USC as back to back National Champions. Technicalities only matter to one fan base…you. If you ask your average college football fan about the Pete Carroll era, you will only hear about how his teams just dominated college football.

          • Owns is not your average college football fan.
He is a complete and utter tool.

          • Yes saspool, but that minor SUCC technically you claim was enough for the NCAA to impose FB sanctions against the Klown U FB program.

In the end saspool, Little Petey Chipmunk can rightfully only claim the 2003 – 04 AP’s half of the CFB poll NC.

Just for the record saspool, the AP and 4 other polls voted Klown U NC. On the other hand saspool, the BCS and 12 other polls voted LSU the NC.

So Klown U garnered 5 NC poll votes vs LSU’s 13 NC poll votes. In other words saspool, 72% of the polls voted for LSU

          • The information is located on Wikipedia; any half wit can access it. Of course, I’m giving you credit for being a half wit.

          • Can’t seem to find it, help me out I’m sure you would be more than happy to prove yourself

          • RENTS in L.A., Just for the record nobody will remember Oklahoma being the runner-up. Only that USC demolished them in the Championship game, making USC back to back National Champions. Nobody will remember who finished second in the Heisman voting or that it was given back. They will only remember Reggie Bush’s LEGENDARY season and that he was by far….the WINNER. Ask Drew Olsen, Matt Moore and Karl Dorrell.

          • I’m not disputing that Klown U slaughtered Oklahoma 55 – 14 in the 2004 – 05 BCS game. What I am stating saspool is Klown U’s victory was vacated due to NCAA sanctions imposed on SUCC’s FB program.

I didn’t get caught cheating, Klown U. did.

I didn’t exacerbate the SUCC investigation problem, Emperor Garrett did.

I didn’t impose Klown U sanctions, and order the 2004 -05 SUCC BCS victory vacated, the NCAA did.

          • But you did witness USC demolish Oklahoma in the Title game, and Reggie Bush run all over the Rose Bowl against the Bruins. Correct? Just be real and say we were the best team.

          • Sure saspool, Klown U FB kicked butt, and SUCC pounded UCLA , but unfortunately SUCC doesn’t get BCS forfeited NC credit.

There are four people responsible for SUCC’s Sanctions:
            1) Reggie Bush
            2) Todd McNair
            3) Little Petey Pom-Pom
            4) Emperor Garrett

          • By the way the coaches always, no matter what, voted the BCS game winner. It was they’re obligation because of the coaches trophy. Every writer, and coaches said out loud USC was the Champion.

          • I don’t know about that. I do remember that Karl Dorrell said with cameras in his face USC was “the best team in college football”.

          • Once again saspool I’m not disputing Klown U’s team’s FB worth in the 2004 – 05 season.

During that season, R. Bush was receiving illegal funds based on Bush’s future Pro FB career earnings. This particular Agent/Business transaction is against NCAA rules agreed too by Div 1 FB conf’s.

Rules are rules saspool. Isn’t that the case with your family? Or do your progeny disobey Mom and Pop at will.

          • You clearly have something that goes beyond an obsession, seek professional help

PS …Who won the 04-05 AP title?

          • Oklahoma refused the honor after SUCC’s victory was vacated by Klown U sanctions imposed for NCAA violations.

          • The ncaa has no connections to the BCS or AP……nice try, idiot!

According to AP records , USC was the champion of 04-05….once again, nice try, idiot!

          • Incorrect! I’m shocked. The AP joined the BCS organization starting the 2004 – 05 season. The BCS winner was recognized as the official CFB NC.

Whether on not the AP poll did or did not vacate Klown U’s is, like you, totally CS and irrelevant.

Klown U can therefore only claim 1/2 half AP poll NC for 2003 – 04.

Three Ball you can scream, shout, stamp your feet, yell at your chickens and punch your small dog but dem’s the facts.

          • “The AP joined the BCS organization starting the 2004 – 05 season.”

Where did this come from, please post link

          • And what has UCLA done in the same time span? A big fat zero. Just like your life, a big fat zero.

          • SUCLA FUUCBALL = “0” NC in CFB in the last “6” f’g decades!!! How f’g glorious!!! ROTFLMAO!!!

          • WTF cares about the crystal, dimwit? It’s been debunked for a while now. Don’t you follow news? Well, I guess you CAN’T because you can’t read. LMAO!!!

          • Lol like how UCLA RENTS the Rose Bowl but never plays in it! Every year UCLA must clear the locker room by Dec 31. All lockers must be empty. LOL!

          • So how does the #1 team share a 1st place trophy 5 ways??

By the looks of neither did Clown U lol… .Oh man CMora really gets under the rah rahs nerves

          • We’ve played in your stadium more times than you in January. It’s our vacation home.

          • I bet it still hurts don’t it, #1 to UN after that vacation trip, so how do you share a 1st place trophy??

          • “We”, do you have a frog in your pocket, why was Mike G. trying to claim another Natty what does that mean?

          • I don’t care for Mike Garrett. Most SC fans never liked him. If you want to talk about sharing. The only title you guys claim is a shared title.

          • I don’t care how feel about him, just wondering why your AD would claim something they never played for the latest being LSU natty, pathetic… .well now you have 7-8 win seasons to look forward to great OLine coach hire by the way lol….

          • Keep celebrating those Alamo, Sun, Holiday trophies. They must look like gold in the bruin trophy case. Have you been on this earth long enough to witness Ucla hoist up a meaningful trophy. . . . . . . . .I didn’t think so. Me I lived through countless Rose Bowls, Orange Bowls, National Titles, etc. True success.

          • Were any of them shared, how’s the Purple Magic cleaner trophy looking on the mantel is that next to the Sun Bowl oh no Clown U loss that one… .

            #Sarkisyourcoach

    • Has anyone read a convincing argument that PC did, in fact, care who became the MVP?

  3. utterly……AMAZING!!! in two ways:

first, Lynch only feels comfortable speaking his mind on another continent where he figures no one will ever hear it!!!

SECOND: even though this quote was made to an obscure station called Spors Pazan, the WOLFMAN sniffs out the sweeeet scooop!!!

KUDOS, wolfman!! you and Petros are VALIDATED!!!

    #buh-BAM!

    #DumbCoachU

    #InAwe

    #uɐʇɐs♥ı

    • What’s even more revealing is that Lynch would rather speak with Al Jazeera than Scott Wolf. ….

    • I used to tell Bill Walton not to smoke that wacky tobacco but he never listened to me. I never thought much of a man who makes a living telling everybody else he is correct.

  4. Papadakis is on a roll power wise – he enjoys running off ‘conspiracies’ re. PC because it allays his anger of how (according to Petros) PC confronted him, on campus, about Leinart’s lack of mobility.

Papadakis is very talented he’s also very entertaining and very self deprecating but per this matter so?

If Petros had praised PC – Wolf would have said nothing same had Lynch defended PC.

This is the reason Wolf has truly plateaued in terms of career moves – he’s Joe McDonnell with a keyboard and just like Joe all those blown bridges are known to all. What goes around comes around.

  5. Scott, I think they call it the Napoleon Complex. After his reign of non compliant terror at Southern Cal, he never had to pay the piper.
He left Southern Cal holding the bag and the sanctions. He truly felt invincible and, if you don’t care about rules, he almost was. I think he felt (past tense) he could not only win, he could decide who was MVP and the best RB on the planet wasn’t his choice. This may be the first time Petey has had to face the earthly bonds of gravity. Sucks, don’t it Pete?
So who do you pick, Seattle, Pete or Marshawn?

  6. I can see it now, Pete Carroll, Marshawn Lynch and Dennis Rodman leading a diplomatic mission through the troubled regions of North Korea and the middle east to share their genius with the world.

  7. How does the #1 team share one 1st place trophy 5 ways??

Who was the HC on that last play

  8. The pass play at the goal line was a terrible call. But if you and your
BFF Petros think Carroll was thinking about who would be the MVP, and not winning the game, than your even more pathetic and conspiratorial than I thought. And you call yourself a journalist?? Any chance you can be re-assigned to ucla??

  9. Meanwhile… USC spring ball begins tomorrow.

Note to Scottie: The Super Bowl was completed over a month ago.

    • Exactly…..the real mystery is whether Scott will actually show up to practice, or will he simply “delegate” this to Reid Silverman?
