Put Me In Coach (Enfield), I’m Ready To Play

In a surprising move, Andy Enfield used only seven players tonight against UCLA. So I asked him why? “I wanted to put you in Scott, but I couldn’t find you. Where the (hell) were you?”

Next time I will be sure to sit in a lower seat instead of the press section.

  1. Classic Andyain’twinning Basketball: Klownster drives against a UCLA double team. Klown U T/O.

      • SUCC BB, Pac -12 cellar dweller @ 3 – 15 – right where Klown U belongs. Last five years, Klown U is 0 – 10 vs UCLA. The 8 Krap of Pac- 12 BB.

        • And neither team will qualify for the NCAA playoffs again this year…. Big deal…..

          • You clearly don’t understand the thinking of these clowns. Beating USC means so much to them that they can’t see the big picture.

    • Owns, I have not had much time for this blog this week, but I am relieved to see that you have not been posting any of that crazy suicide talk from last week. I think we can make real progress here, Owns. You may not believe this, but this blog is a safe space. You are among friends here. Well, not friends as in actual friend-type friends, but friends of a sort. What you need to OWN is some SELF-AWARENESS. Are you ready to make some progress and achieve a BREAKTHROUGH?

      • Dupee, Dupee, Dupee, are you the Univ. of Suicidal Chumps choir boy. I understand It’s tough being full time loser, no life and nobody cares about you Dupee. Make it easy on yourself. Try some Otis pain reliever – Chug a quart of Vodka for some backbone and do your thing.

        • Now you are talking about mixing vodka and pain relievers and threatening to jump. We are right back where we started. Owns, step away from the edge!

Only YOU can fix YOU, Owns, but the readers of this blog will be ready to listen and help when you become ready to KEEP IT REAL.

Do not listen to the Cadre, Owns. They are not your friends. The Cadre is just one or two guys obsessed with irritating Ray Reyes.

          • Jump Depee, you’re worthless entity. Here’s your chance to join the Klown U ranks of the most extreme losers. The shoe fits, the time is right, make a closing statement Depee.

We can’t wait for you for your thump, or as I refer to it, the canned chicken bounce.

          • Owns, now this is just getting silly. On the other thread, you seemed to be making progress — a breakthrough, even! — and then back here on this thread, you’ve reverted to posting dark fantasies like your name was Anne Rice. I’m moving on to the next thread, where I was talking with the Owns Who Wants To Improve Himself.

    • How about Smeagol?

      Famous Scottie/Smeagol quotes:

“Yes, precious, false! They will cheat you, hurt you, LIE.”

      I’m not listening… I’m not listening…”

“Where would you be without me, cadre, cadre? I saved us! It was me! We survived because of me!”

“Don’t ask Smeagol. Poor, poor Smeagol.”

“Po-tay-toes! Boil ’em, mash ’em, stick ’em in a stew… Lovely big golden chips with a nice piece of fried fish.”

  2. Scott is an institution within usc. He not only reports the news, he becomes the news.

      • If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck…
it’s probably just the Wolfman pulling the strings at HH, all while he humbly takes over LA’s headlines yet again.

  3. When it comes to sportsmanship, if you think anybody can sink lower than the Ugly Bucket or ‘SUCLA clowns LA football’ than you have never been to Pauley Pavilion where some 10,000 of them thrive and live for the good old days of the 1960s, a half century ago

The SUCLAs are stupid, pathetic, and down right silly.

    Time to move on

    • You’re very poor loser Walnut. You should be whining about your Klown U loser sports programs that are now circling the drain.

      • sounds like the Bruins sitting around the Paralegal were a too rough on the lil’ guey!! he sounds pretty shook up!!

he’s always crying about the Oregon fans this or the Bruins that…alternate theory: maybe people just don’t like him!! and treat him accordingly!!

    • Speaking of bad sportsmanship, why didn’t Enfield put the subs in when SC was down 15 points with a minute left and the ruins cleared their bench? Football Head Enfield is an embarrassment to USC.

    • I can’t for the life of me figure out why you would want to go see that SC team play in Pauley. AND, I don’t know why you are whining about “bad sportsmanship.” Pauley was dead. It was a very boring basketball game in front of a comatose crowd, much like the rest of the year at Pauley.

Andy Enfield is such a poor coach he makes Alford look like Coach K and Alford stinks. There was no defense played by either team and no fundamentals to be found anywhere. And against UCLA’s pathetic D, SC turned the ball over around 19 times.

Sorry you had such a bad time at Pauley. I doubt things have been any better at Galen this year.

  4. Spring Football practice just started and this is the news we get…pathetic. A self absorbed, low level, beat writer that thinks he’s famous. Only in 2015.

  5. wolfman, i love my Bruins like blood BROTHERS, but i thank ̶G̶o̶d̶ Satan that they never have to face an adversary such as yourself on the court!!!

your immensely POWERFUL physique COMBINED with your EXTENSIVE knowledge of the game would make you virtually unstoppable!!! a true force to be reckoned with unlike any other the Pac 12 has even seen!!

Enfield, i know your team has hit rock bottom (again), but putting the wolfman into the game against mere boys?? don’t even say that JOKINGLY!!!!

  6. If Scott entered the game would he be allowed to play in a West Bromich Albion soccer jersey?

  7. Helen, Probation, thoroughly enjoy your commentary ! Probation, I attended the first basketball game at a brand new Pauley Pavilion. New recruit Lew Alcindor scored 55 points against our 7 footer Rob Taylor. Lew was a freshman that year and played in the Frosh game ahead of the Varsity game. Roughly 49 of his 55 points were dunks. if memory serves me, the NCAA outlawed dunks for all of college basketball during Lew’s 3 year varsity career at UCLA. Also. I remember when Wooden went into a 7 minute STALL to defeat a #2 Ranked USC Basketball juggernaut. Probation, deep down, where Wooden lived, was he actually a LOW LIFE ? Just asking…..

    • Apparently Bob Boyd was in the same crowd, because Klown U used the same tactics to defeat UCLA 42 -40 once or twice. But 47, which team, UCLA or Klown U, ultimately won the NCAA BB NC’s? Just asking.

Isn’t Klown U’s all time NCAA Tournament record 11 – 19. One elite 8 and no Final Four since 1954. Zero Basketball NC’s ever. Deep down 47, you know the Klown U BB program SUCCs.

    • Coach Wooden was a man. He was not a saint nor was he a low life. He was not a simple man by any means and he is/was the best coach in the history of the game. He certainly was not a perfect man, but none of us are, except for Scott Wolf.

Debating the merits/demerits of Coach Wooden on this site is a fools errand!

  8. Probation, I attended all of USC’s home basketball games vs UCLA during my four year enrollment. For one reason or another I sat at or very close to the “gym”.floor. I repeatedly heard Wooden berate our players during the games. There were times when I asked him to shut his damn mouth, but I don’t believe he heard me. Wooden coached in a cup cake era of college basketball. Coach K, Coach Smith, Coach Knight, and others are the true legends of college basketball. Yes indeed. Coach Wooden was an A**hole in my book. And it’s past time you dump that PU handle……

    • And Schammer47, if I had had Alcindor, and then Waltion, and then Wicks-Rowe-Patterson, I would have won a lot of games, and I don’t know the first thing about coaching a basketball team except to say, “Hey Lew, go out and show ’em what you can do.”

      • Since you all went there, I will answer. It has been well-documented that Wooden was a bench jockey and talked incessantly to opposing players and to referees. I used to have a former SC player sit behind us at some games at Pauley and we would needle each other and he would tell me some stories about that. So, get over it. Wooden was highly competitive.

Listing Coach Knight, K and Smith as the true legends only shows your bias. They are and were great coaches. Let me know when the 3 of them total 10 Titles. And, the only one of the 3 that was truly classy in that trio is Smith, in MY book.

The talent argument is a funny one too, JW. How many titles did Kansas win with Chamberlain? How about Virginia with Ralph Sampson? How does Houston lose to NC State? Teams don’t win without BOTH talent and coaching. It’s pretty simple.

UCLA MADE the NCAA tournament, if for no other reason that people tuning in to root against them. The ONLY teams eligible were conference champions and UCLA won 38 tourney games in a row. Certainly, with players staying 4 years instead of the one and done, it was a different game. However, nobody had ever one more than 2 in a row prior, so it stands out as a great accomplishment. As a coach, the criticisms against Wooden are nonsensical.

Are you going to diminish John McKay because he had great players and was able to stockpile players before the NCAA reduced the amount of scholarships a school could offer? How hard was it to hand the ball off to OJ Simpson? Does that mean McKay couldn’t coach or that he was smart enough to keep running what others couldn’t stop?

I understand the other criticisms regarding Coach Wooden. God knows, rusoviet likes to rant on them regularly. Again, no need to go back and forth on that. But until someone bests 10 National Titles, Wooden will be the best, just like Tiger Woods needs to beat the 18 majors of Jack Nicklaus. Neither one is likely to happen.

Hammer, sorry if you don’t like the handle. Feel free to offer suggestions. I am sure you can come up with some creative ones. I might even go along with one of them.

        • I’m certainly not being critical of Wooden, but during those days, as you stated only the conference champions made it to the NCAA playoffs…..this was also before the money grabbing conference tournaments and the expanded number of teams (64+) who are now selected to participate….

          • Personally, I think that players leaving school early is much more of an impact on the game than the expanded field. In UCLA’s heyday, that would have meant a couple more games against even more overmatched teams. It is highly unlikely that would have been a problem in that era.

Also, freshman were ineligible. Do you think Texas Western (UTEP) would have won a National Title if UCLA could have played Lew Alcindor as a freshman? The best team in the country that year was the UCLA Freshman team. Alcindor’s 3 UCLA teams went 88-2 with both losses by 2 points. One to Houston in the Astrodome when Alcindor was injured and the other to SC in a slow down game courtesy of Bob Boyd in a brilliant strategy. UCLA won the rematch in the Final 4 at the Sports Arena by 32 points over #1 ranked Houston. I don’t think 2 more games against poor teams would have changed anything.

This year’s crappy UCLA team MAY make the tourney, although unworthy. The game is diluted. How can a potential tourney team score 7 points in one half? Kentucky should waltz through.

Give John Calipari credit. He takes all these young players with big egos to step up and play defense and play as a team. Alford and Enfield have players with less talent and yet big egos, and neither one of them can get these guys to play hard and play D.

  9. It’s so fun to completely dominated the gutty trolljans in every way. 0-5 in bb vs the Bruins; 0-3 in football. All that’s left for SC fans is to attack their superior rivals and trundle out tired words like “sanctions,” “50-0” (how many embarrassing beat downs ago was that? My memory is fuzzy), “Carroll,” and “we used to beat the Bruins.”

Glory days of Troy = distant rear view mirror.
