USC pinch-hitter Adalberto Carrillo homered n the ninth inning to defeat No. 1-ranked Vanderbilt, 6-5, this afternoon at Dedeaux Field. Catcher Garrett Stubbs drove in two runs and the Trojans (14-1) won despite being outhit, 14-7. USC plays UCLA on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Dodger Stadium.

Nice win. I watched the game on my iPhone. So it’s hard to tell how good both teams are. But I’ll take that victory!
I was there…great game played by both teams. Hey wolfbag…if you would’ve gotten off your fat butt and gone to the game you would’ve saw that USC lined out three times…two with men in scoring position. Vanderbilt is loaded on the mound and they’re legit. USC is gaining more confidence with each game they play.

I got this Rusoviet, Mai Tai Mix and Up chuck, how many teams have you beat in the tournament? I will tell you, Zero. How many runs have you scored? 1. How many runs have you given up? 9. Now, USC has beaten the #4 and #1 team in the nation in back to back games. They have scored 13 runs in two games against one starting pitcher who had not given up any runs till Friday night and he gave up two running his era from 0 to over 2.0, and USC going toe to toe and pushing Vanderbuilt till they burst under pressure. Now Mai Tai Mix and Upchuck, just have your team play the tin-cans so they can kick them around and “feel” good about themselves. Like always, USC will take care of the heavy work and beat the big and bad teams. BTW, USC has won the tournament. Jabronis (From the Rock) It does not matter what happens on Sunday.
