Everything’s Connected To USC

GROSSWith former USC administrator Daryl Gross “resigning” as Syracuse athletic director, I recommend this column, which contains this reason for removal: “his failure to rescue Orange football, which has staggered along to a 45-77 record on his 10-season watch after having gone 74-47 in the 10 campaigns preceding his pomp-and-circumstance arrival from USC.”

Also of note: Syracuse’s deputy athletics director is Renee Baumgartner, a former USC golfer and then USC women’s golf coach in the 1990’s. Syracuse media found it significant she got passed over as interim A.D., more fallout from the NCAA sanctions.

  1. Just like I stated this morning. Wolf cannot help himself with his endless USC bashing. This is beyond critical analysis, Wolf is addicted to this type of “journalism. ” This all begs the question, was Wolf’s USC experience so dreadful that he suffered some type of psychological trama that triggers this behavior? Is this the only way he can cope with covering USC athletics, this 24-7-365 cycle of constant negative USC tidbits?

    • The blogger likes to go both ways – no matter how anything turns out he can have a fallback argument/snipe against SC to generate troll traffic to the blog. A few years ago Gross was the invisible hand behind SC’s success according to the blogger. Now the blogger is using Gross’ failure at Syracuse as some sort of indictment of SC. Typical.

  2. wolfman, the way you put all the evidence together to make your case, you’re like a powerfully built, more handsome Asst. D.A. Jack McCoy!!!

wolfman, the Cadre finds you GUILTY…guilty of being AWESOME, that is!!!

    • maxipad, the only thing that is corrupt is all the cheating going on at ugly for the last 50 years with Johnny Cheetin’, Jim Harrick, Bob Toledo, Jim Mora, and now Adrian Klemm. Cheating is a tradtion at ugly.

  3. Hey Wolf why not try to do what your peer’s Tom Hoffarth and Vincent Bonsignore do – actually show skill and depth of knowledge on an issue instead of being the ‘Joe McDonnell’ of sports reporters i.e. nothing insightful to say just wise cracks and put downs.

Funny thing also when Hoffarth ran that article on that Daily Bruin Daily Trojan football game your name was never mentioned – it shows just how much your presence is worth at the very place you work – none.

  4. I will no longer wonder if Scott has a twin somewhere. Now I gotta follow this New Yorker’s blog just to figure out which is the evil twin

  5. Don’t forget Barbara Hedges, wolfman, another USC export AD that wreaked havoc!!!

  6. Can USC hire Jim Boeheim to be the HC after 1-3 years with Syracuse? That would be a great hire…
