USC v. UCLA

USC actually took a back seat tonight with UCLA landing Demetric Fletcher of Great Oak and linebacker Lokeni Toailoa of Fontana Carter. Toailoa’s dad wore a UCLA shirt and USC hat before the announcement, so it looks like the coaching staff is not as invincible as you might have thought Signing Day. Of course none of today’s recruits went to Serra or Poly, which made it tougher.

    • Nice pick-up. Watch out. Notre Dame will be on his doorstep all season. Also he ultimately wants his brother to come along. That could pose a problem.

  1. Although I would like to have landed Toailoa. It was clear SC was not going to have a shot with him. He made it clear over a month ago depth at LB and our incoming LB class was a factor. Wolf….why does it feel like someone always has to correct you on your recruiting knowledge? Please state all factors in these commitments.

  2. Scott so glibly assumes that players from Serra and Poly will automatically go to USC……it’s a two way street, Scott….. not every player is worthy of a scholarship and some players may simply want to go elsewhere……just look at Marcedes Lewis, from Poly, who wound being one of the best TE’s in UCLA history…..
