Former USC president Steve Sample told me a few years ago he wanted the Expo Line to be underground on Exposition Blvd. and offered to pay for the costs of making the train line underground around the university but the offer was declined.
I’m sure Sample thought of this when news broke Saturday of a car hitting the train.
Sample didn’t have stacks that high.
a tunnel beneath, for all trains to dash?
it seems this would take a big pile of cash!
if Sample can write that big a check,
then do it now, man, prevent one more wreck!
What’s the over/under on wolf beating this dead horse into the ground? He just can’t wait to somehow, someway blame USC for this.
How long before some drunk gets hit on game day?
This is why there should never be street level tracks where there is potential for people or cars to intersect. Either raise it above street level, or put it underground. All street level trains do is cause traffic jams at intersections waiting to cross and lead to potentially dangerous situations like this.
$875 billion Obama Porkulis bill and we couldn’t get it done then?
