Morning Buzz: Coliseum PA Announcer No Longer Doing Dodgers Games

Eric Smith, who does the public-address announcing at USC home games, has also been the Dodger Stadium PA announcer even before he started working at the Coliseum. But the Dodgers announced Smith will no longer do Dodger games because of “other commitments.”

  1. So you are saying that SC is slow to recognize the diminishing worth of Eric Smith as a PA announcer? What does that say about the Daily News?

  2. Best announcer in all of professional sports was the late great Bob Sheppard – unlike the bombastic boorish LA announcers it was never about him (Sheppard).

  3. Best ever in-stadium P. A. announcer was John Ramsey. Did Ucla football at Coliseum, Usc football, Usc basketball, Dodgers, L.A. & CA Angeles, Lakers, Kings, Rams, Raiders… Super Bowls, All Star game – one busy guy. He would often announce five games over a three-day weekend – articulate, unruffled and deliberate.

Now batting… for the Dodgers.. number 8.. John Roseboro.

    O.J. Simpson, gain of 28.
