Crowd Comparison

The spring game drew nearly 23,000 on Saturday. In 2005, the crowd was estimated at more than 15,000. Is it possible 8,000 less people came during the Matt Leinart-Reggie Bush era?

    • Today’s trivia: Can you name the QB who transferred to SC hoping to succeed Carson Palmer the spring following our win against Iowa?

        • Brandon Hance. He started and was fairly successful at Purdue, but came in competing against Leinart, Cassell, and Booty.

          • That’s right!…. He wore #4, if I remember correctly….good trivia…..oh, the weekend trivia on my calendar is kind of a lay up:

What number did Charles White wear during his All-America career at USC?

  1. I’m a diehard fan. If I was cremated spread my ashes in the coliseum. But I have to say even Pete’s spring games back then were a little sleepy. The spring game that had Booty, Bing, and Whitney Lewis all in as early enrollees was probably my favorite.

    • This is so true , Bing drew a bunch of attention with the his jersey#. USC has never been a big draw for spring games .

      • There’s just to many things people can do in LA. In SEC country there’s not much going on. Bing had a solid career, but I wish he would’ve had a shot at tailback. But no need after Reggie, Lendale, and Chauncey showed up.

    • Whitney Lewis = Dillon Baxter in terms of not living up to the hype and unrealistic expectations…..both were huge disappointments….others include Aaron Corp, Marc Tyler, Blake Ayles, and Kyle Prater (who has the size, 6′ 5″, still has a chance to turns things around at Northwestern),

      • Totally agree. Lewis mom forced him to sign with SC and not FSU. One name people forget about….Jeff Schweiger 5 star DE who Carroll loved but burned out.

        • Historically, I have always been a bit skeptical of that whole St. Bonaventure football “pipeline” because of the poor quality of their opponents … Lorenzo Booker, Whitney Lewis, Giovanni DiPoalo, Patrick Hall, now Bryce Dixon has had some off the field issues and it’s still too early regarding Ricky Towns…..

          • Yeah, my buddy points that out to me when he here’s ST. Bon. They beat our HS in 2000 in the CIF finals with Booker.

  2. Why just go back just 10 years? During the Petros era at CS Irvine, there were never more than 100 spectators. Go back a bit more to when the ‘Spring Fling’ was on campus. There were less than 50 who viewed the action. Times change as the hoopla & venue were on the rise… In-and-out burgers seemed to be the turnaround point.
Keep up the inane topics Senor Lobo and I will check back in another week or so to observe if you have finally ‘seen the light’. My best guess is that you will remain AFU.

  3. Mr Wolf:
May I suggest you think about getting a dog. Everyday you will have a happy smiling face that will be happy when you arrive home. Your current path makes for a following that would make most peoples skin crawl.

  4. Scottie said “South Carolina announced a crowd of 22,580 at its spring game today. How close can USC get to that figure today?”

No surprise Scottie didn’t mention it when (the real) USC beat South Carolina’s attendance.

  5. Another famous silly blog question from the non-answer man, only this time it’s of the “is it possible?” variety, even though we have the numbers. Wolfie seems perpetually confused (“What’s on that building?!), his dominant personality trait.

  6. Usc is done do they still play football who is the head coach is that the best you can do McKay is rolling over in his grave
