USC Morning Buzz: Tony Boselli’s Son Commits To Florida State

Last weekend, former USC star offensive lineman Tony Boselli attended the spring football game at the Coliseum. This week, his son Andrew, committed to Florida State. Andrew Boselli, an offensive guard, was not offered by USC, which makes him one of the few juniors who has not been offered by the Trojans. I’m sure he’ll survive playing for Jimbo Fisher.

  1. Oh no, this is going to be a year long non story. Something along the lines, “I remember when Pete Carroll would offer…blah, blah, blah”.

  2. he’s good enough for the team that’s won 35 outta 36 games last two seasons, but Southern Cal doesn’t even OFFER him??? and he’s a legacy???

wow. wolfman, ONCE AGAIN, you are proved right as rain.

    • SC is taking 2 OL this year. With 2 in state 4 * commits no reason to reach out to a 3*.

      • You are very ignorant if you just look at how many stars are next to their name. In last years super bowl there were no 5 star prospects in the starting lineup. And i think there were only 7 4 star prospects. The rest of the starting lineups for both the Seahawks, and patriots were full of 3 star and under prospects. You would be surprised how many of them were 2 star prospects in high school. If your coach only looks at how many stars are next to their name than you are in big trouble.

  3. So SC has arguably, one of the top OL’s in college football next year. LK’s staff didn’t offer another legacy (Sean Harlow) and that seemed to work out just fine. And remember Anthony Muñoz’ kid? He didn’t play at SC either. No big deal Gargamel….

    • None of Bruce Matthews’s sons (Jake, Kevin or Mike) signed with USC either……Scott, I know this sort of thing really breaks your heart, but we are NOT required to offer legacy’s, nor should they be expected to accept of scholarship from USC, if offered….Andrew probably wants to play close to home and FSU is a very good program, Scott.

  4. “…which makes him one of the few juniors who has not been offered by the Trojans.”

What does this mean? That SC offers scholarships to most of the juniors in high school?

Another Wolfism where ‘Only Wolf Knows.’

    • SC picked up RB today. Melquisse Stovall. 4* from Paraclete. This one is not surprising, but the timing is. He’s very fast and strong for only 5-9

  5. Andrew is a 3 star athlete by all accounts. He also lives in the state of Florida. Why is this even news or a shock?

  6. Reflects the power shift from the ACC and their standard-bearer to the Pac-12. Florida State must now consider the 2nd tier players. SC has to keep those scholies for the top-tier guys. Not to sound conceited, but you can’t just give a legacy scholarship to a Boselli or Broadus. We’ve got to re-stock the shelves with the talent that will bring the school back to the promised land.

    • It all begins and ends with the HEAD COACH. You boneheads spent MONTHS searching for Goat Boy’s replacement tossing around names like Gruden & Cowher and you ended up with the guy that previously coached at El Camino Junior College!

Seriously….Sarkiffian was the best you could do?
      figt Un!

  7. He must be a very good prospect! Jimbo fisher is very good at selecting guys who know how to win football games. That is why Florida State has been so successful in recent years. “Don’t look at how many stars they have next to their name, look at what they can possibly bring to the program.”

  8. Uh-oh. Last three head-to-heads for the ’16 class have gone to UCLA over USC, including today’s announcement that elite WR
Darian Owens just committed to Bruins today.

  9. USC has more then enough talent in their own backyard, so why spend the extra effort in trying to recruit a player clear across the country, that has similar skills to the players here ?
