Here’s a view of the USC campus circa 1965-66. Note the parking and open space of the campus. The green field adjacent to the track is the old Bovard Field where the baseball team played prior to the construction of Dedeaux Field in 1974.

WPH hadn’t been built yet (what a sterile design it is/was) just to the right (north) of VKC. That diagonal grey patch is old Hoover Street. Bovard is on the left side with the old gym directly behind it. Birnkrant running along the bottom of the photo.
Bovard Field is actually on the right side old Gym PE building

What a difference 50 years makes.
It’s mind boggling that everything to the north of Cromwell Field in that picture to Jefferson Blvd and to the west to Vermont Ave. has a new building or structure on it
VKC is actually still under construction in this photo. The globe has not been placed atop the bell tower.
