USC Saturday Buzz: Josh Rosen Strong In UCLA Spring Game

The Bruins’ spring game is on the Pac-12 Network right now, which means I cannot watch it. Freshman QB Josh Rosen was 13 of 17 with two touchdowns and an interception in his first three series. And what will the game’s attendance be?
UPDATED: The game is over and Rosen’s above stats are final. Will he start the season opener a la Matt Barkley?

      • I disagree – Anybody who supports, or has an interest in ucla football is a troll by nature, so 100% trolls.

        • I was taking into account parental supervision, but I see where you’re coming from. …

          • Unless Rosen can run, I really dont see any pocket passer beating SC this year with the corners we have

        • Yolo, that is “stupid” !

College Football fans rank in the millions, and not all are Trojan Fans !!

And Rosen was a heck of a pickup for UCLA !!!

His (Rosen) problem is, until his Senior year, he will be up against Kessler first, and then Max Browne, and that’s not good, for Rosen that is…

          • So how do you explain the terrible turnout for the ucla spring game? Maybe you weren’t paying attention, and maybe you missed the fact this blog is polluted by trolls and mudslinging is the norm around here – which is also “stupid”

  1. Going to be an interesting season. UCLA finished #10 in the country and returns 18 starters. So if Rosen is decent and keeps mistakes to a minimum, they could make a run. USC finished #20 and returns the best QB in the country….can we make the huge jump to BCS challenger, or will Kessler succumb to the pressure like Matt Barkley?

Kessler’s big deficit is his reaction to pressure from the edge, his footwork needs to improve because teams will be all about getting to him so he will need to be able to execute hot reads. He won’t see pressure for the first two games, but after that it’s five teams who can put the rush on so we’ll know by mid-season if he can do it.

      • He (Kessler) already is, by far !

        Recommendation: Review Season 2014 !

And remember, “Defense” matters, and Wilcox hasn’t figured that out yet…

    • Mr. Pibb, regarding Kesslers’ reactions to pressure Defenses, You are Correct !

One last Year to change that…

  2. Top LA sports powers: Haden #14; Mora #33; Tommy Trojan #34; Dough Boy misses the cut.

  3. “……. game is on the Pac-12 Network right now, which means I cannot watch it.” …Translation: I don’t have any friends with the Pac-12 Network who will invite me over to watch the game at their place….

  4. 10:00 am on a cool Saturday morning with minimal traffic and a ‘cropped’ photo with (as cited below 8,500) few if any even interested. This speaks more of their ‘half a tank of gas’ radius fan base than those who go to school. i.e. the basis of bel-air tech support is hatred of Troy not actual support

  5. Highly doubtful those stats will earn even one win. Strong? It’s relative. I have 3 sisters. One of them is a little stronger than the other two. Having said that, I wish the young may well.

  6. Josh Rosen the quarterback is awesome. But Josh Rosen the person is a different story. My cousin works at St. John bosco, and apparently the guy is a head case. If josh Rosen played a position other than quarterback, it really wouldn’t matter. But quarterback is a leadership position, and Rosen has serious character problems according to many people at St. John bosco. It will be interesting to see how his ucla career unfolds. I think he will be in the news a lot both for on the field stuff, and for off the field stuff.

    • Lol.. .”my cousin”, “serious character problems”, “head case” weird how he was able to survive H.S. high GPA, an early enrolee at UCLA, sounds like veteran player in interviews, weird with all those character issues

Your cousin tells me a lot of juicy stories when he’s done cleaning the bathrooms.. .

      #ClownU

      • My cousin knows what he’s talking about. Since you are a ucla fan, you don’t want to hear bad things about anyone ucla. Let’s just watch the coming years. Unless Rosen has a serious attitude adjustment there are going to be behavioral problems at ucla. I’m not comparing him to jameis Winston, who has far worse than behavioral problems. But Rosen is far from Brett hundley as far as emotional intelligence.

        • I like facts, like Shaw for example, woman beater, escape artist, known liar and high jumper… .

        • My 3rd cousin on my mother’s side of the family, twice removed thinks you are hilarious.

          • If they ever find Rosen running loose on campus with an assault rifle with an extended clip, I will make sure to note that you warned everyone ahead of time…..or at least your cousin did.

          • I’m a ucla fan probationu. You read my post wrong, too. You are an embarrassment to ucla fans everywhere. You are on this site all the time and your posts are just plain stupid. Do ucla a favor and stop defending them. I wish you were a usc fan, so you could embarrass them. You need to get laid, buddy.

          • You are a Bruin fan posting stupid, negative stuff about a Bruin QB that has not even played a game yet on a Trojan site. Get real. Nobody knows how this kid will perform yet, but opine on about his supposed character flaws.

          • What pisses me off about you probationuvirgin is that you misinterpret what I say. I said I think he could have a great ucla career, but there are some emotional problems with the guy. And you try to interpret it that I am saying the guys a complete psycho, who will suck at ucla. What you do is misinterpret what people say. Get a life!

          • Hard to misinterpret “head case”, “character issues” and comparing to Ryan Leaf (who is in jail or has been in jail).

The most common negative comments would be about his arrogance or cockiness. Show me a 5-star QB that isn’t and he will be the exception. There is a ton of hype around the kid and he hasn’t played a game yet. IMO, both the hype and the negative stuff you have mentioned is premature at best.

I think I will take Mora’s opinion and expertise over your cousin who works at Bosco…probably doing something that involves a mop, the laundry or toilets.

          • I have studied psychology for years. I know your type probationu. You are one of those insecure people who always has to get the last word. You would rather die then not get the last word. That is why I am saying goodbye to you. I went to your profile, and what I saw us that you are on this site all the time spewing your arrogance. I have a good feeling that the people around you, don’t like being around you too much. I really feel bad for you. I think you are one of those people, who doesn’t get invited to many things. I don’t have time for you anymore. Goodbye probationu, have a nice day.

      • Let’s see, according to this guy’s cousin Rosen is a little crazy but he’ll be successful at f ucla? And this guy claims to be a f ucla fan?

    • You’re stupid. The kid is a beyond his years in maturity. His a natural born leader. Who are we going to believe, some loser hater, or Jim Mora and his players? SMH

  7. Wolf why do Wangs job too. Nobody except the sad few even care about the sucla spring game. It’s all bullshit just to get us to write something one here.

  8. What’s the alternative? Jerry Neuhiesal? This season is gonna be awesome for Bruin haters. If such a thing exists. I predict 4 perfect Saturdays. Not counting the 2 head-to-head gamedays.

  9. He is going to absolutely terrorize the Trojan Town Clowns for the next few years.
