USC Player Spotlight: John Block

BLOCK

USC forward John Block attended Sunday’s memorial for Bob Boyd and is another Trojan who deserves more recognition at the Galen Center. Block played at USC from 1963-66 and then enjoyed a long NBA career (1966-76). He averaged 20.2 points and 11.0 rebounds for the San Diego Rockets and was an all-star in 1973 for the Philadelphia 76ers.

  1. HE really was quite a player ,like John Rudometkin, a year or two earlier(,a JC transfer player in ’60-’62?)that could change the direction of a game;and also like Bill Hewitt he was one of the best at his position;Rudometkin had some really good other players around him ,really good starting 5,the latter not to that degree, with all 5 very talented…thanks for the memory reminder,I enjoyed watching these guys play.
