USC forward John Block attended Sunday’s memorial for Bob Boyd and is another Trojan who deserves more recognition at the Galen Center. Block played at USC from 1963-66 and then enjoyed a long NBA career (1966-76). He averaged 20.2 points and 11.0 rebounds for the San Diego Rockets and was an all-star in 1973 for the Philadelphia 76ers.
HE really was quite a player ,like John Rudometkin, a year or two earlier(,a JC transfer player in ’60-’62?)that could change the direction of a game;and also like Bill Hewitt he was one of the best at his position;Rudometkin had some really good other players around him ,really good starting 5,the latter not to that degree, with all 5 very talented…thanks for the memory reminder,I enjoyed watching these guys play.
