George Farmer, J.R. Tavai And Aundrey Walker Undrafted

The NFL draft is over and now several USC players will seek to sign free-agent contracts: Wide receiver George Farmer, linebacker J.R. Tavai and offensive lineman Aundrey Walker.

UPDATED: I should add kicker Andre Heidari, who also did not get drafted.

  1. Another national championship for USC! ……women’s sand volleyball team. …28-0 !!!!

    • wow, that’s fantastic!!

only one problem….the NCAA does not recognize this as an official NATTY!!!! (that don’t start till next year)

      HAWR-HAAAAWR!!!!

    • BFD. Just forty-one poor D-1 colleges and Univ. participate. As usual, SUCC excels against non-competitive teams in cheap $$$$ non-NCAA sanctioned team athletics.

Just another meaningless Klown U crepe paper Trophy for Hubris Hut

        • Speaking of pathetic, Golly-Nerd cried nerd tears at the midnight show of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

          • Golly-Nerd, what did you give Avengers: Age of Ultron, a 9 out of 10 on the Golly-Nerd scale of 0-10 with 10 being highest? When do you start your countdown for the new Star Wars movie?

  2. Interesting that both Farmer and Ellis McCarthy (Monrovia HS / UCLA) were top 5 talent coming out of high school (Rivals), and yet neither were drafted 3 years later. McCarthy was a monster in H.S.

    • McCarthy was a monster bust at UCLA and leaves early? I am guessing he didn’t value getting a degree as well. It’s his loss much more than UCLA’s.

      • He was there to get to the NFL and, alas, bel-air tech graphically failed to 1. make him into the player he/they and they assumed he would/could be and 2. well that’s what you get when you have an 80 yd. practice field and your ‘home stadium (instead of being where your track stadium is) is a cool 20+ miles from your ‘manse’…

        • As was George Farmer at SC. Sometimes it just doesn’t work. Barkley hoping Chip Kelly doesn’t sign Aundrey Walker.

          • Yeah the problem is you’re still 20+ miles from your home stadium (could have been Drake Track Stadium in the loaming…let’s be progressive in 1966 and let the kiddies decide) and stuck with an 80 yd. practice field because the rest of the Title IX and their ‘demi-male’ programs control Drake just like that sk&nk feminazi on the ‘GLBT student council’ shrieking about that vote last year when the move to close down investment in Israel was scotched …it’s why public university campuses are targeted and controlled by the left….and they are they totally are….watch the parade of morons next year Saunders, O’Malley, Warren and Klintonska chevrolet sachet shante …. oh yeah….pro-death pro-choice….I am woman hear me roar as I blow right through that door

          • That was RICH……were you afraid to use the ultimate grade school reply….’same to you but more of it’?

          • Would someone please put a muzzle on the little ankle biting Chihuahua this morning. Is ThaiMex your fusion preference or are you having a identity crisis?

          • He sure was. What did he win? A few games over SC? Big deal. He’s a bust!

          • It’s a year away but I’ll bet you right now Kessler is drafted before the 147th pick in next years draft if he is not injured. Loser leaves this blog for a year. If Kessler goes in the 1st round you leave forever, if he goes undrafted I do the same.

          • you are assuming someone gives a ratz azzz about you or your rah rah comments…= over inflated…but don’t worry…your mom still thinks you’re cool
            fit ung

          • My mom did think I was cool and I would love to be able to have Sunday morning coffee with her again, she was a huge SC fan. She would think you’re like a little yapping Chihuahua, loud but harmless. I already sent your butt buddy SaferInWestwood packing. You want to take the bet? You could spend your time away sword fighting or whatever you do when your not trolling a rival blog. Just trying to clean this cesspool of a blog up. One stinking troll at a time. It must be pretty quite over at the Ruins Nation this morning.

          • What you are saying is
“No way in hell am I accepting your wager”

          • Or he could be saying who cares what college players do after they leave?

          • In all seriousness, aside from the wins against SC, what did he win? He gets credit for beating the crosstown rival, give him that. Then what? Conference Championships? All American teams? All Conference 1st Teams? Marquee Bowl wins? Wins against ranked teams? He may eventually have success, but he has a lot of work in front of him. He may never start in the league. Until he does something beyond those wins against USC he has not come close to Matt’s accomplishments. Let’s see how he does against the Packer’s rivals, they won’t be under sanctions with limited rosters. Welcome to the NFL son, for a QB who has happy feet in the pocket and throws IT’s when pressured it means, NOT FOR LONG.

          • Well, SoCal Native (I am one too)…let me put Brett’s UCLA career in perspective. UCLA was coming off a horrible period in football for over a decade. The program was in the dumps. Bruins had just lost to SC 50-0! The entire regime changed and Hundley came on board as the QB and the team went 29-11 during his tenure. In one year the team went from 50-0 loss to a 38-28 win over an SC team that was the preseason #1. SC was under sanctions during the 50-0 win as well as being favored to win all 3 games. I know in the last 2 games in particular, SC was short on depth, but the Neuheisel Bruins still would have lost all 3 of those games. The Bruins won the PAC12 South. He led the Bruins to 2 minor bowl victories. So, what he gets credit for is getting the ship righted and starting the turnaround of the program. I don’t think you can deny those.

I am not comparing his college career with Leinart’s and you certainly cannot compare their respective supporting casts either. It is apples and oranges. Leinart was a 1st rounder and an NFL bust much like Bruin Cade McNown. As disappointing as a 5th round draft position may be, one cannot be an NFL bust based upon draft position. Tom Brady went in the 6th round and Joe Montana the 7th. I stated in another post that I didn’t think Hundley’s skill set would be a great NFL fit. I hope I am wrong. He did get drafted into a good situation. Time will tell.

          • I do agree with this being a good scenario for him. There should be no reason for him to to play in a meaning situation before he has time to work on the many areas of his game that did it. I am still skeptical of a run first QB having lasting success in the league, but in all honest I’m not a fan of the pro game so I really don’t know. I also agree all will be revealed in time.

          • And remember, while I acknowledge SC’s sanctions, UCLA had Dorrell and Neuheisel. I am not sure which was more damaging!

And while I like Kessler, I also don’t think he is an NFL QB either. It NFL QB’s were easy to identify, the NFL experts would do a better job of identifying them. Ryan Leaf went #2 right behind Peyton Manning. No longer behind Manning, I think he is behind bars.
