The Australia Bowl?

The Pac-12 and Mountain West are discussing a bowl game in Australia. This sounds like a possible disaster to fulfill Larry Scott’s craving for international exposure. Will USC fans find out three weeks in advance they must travel to Australia for a bowl game?

Obviously, this is an event where the Pac-12 won’t really care who goes from the schools because they expect the Aussies to provide the 40,000 fans. And then there is the time difference for those watching at home.

  1. I could see the headlines now…Southern Cal Australia Bowl runner-up! UTAH ST runs away down under!

  2. If they were to play on a Saturday at noon Sydney time, it would be 8pm PST, on Friday …..not a big deal. …but 3 weeks notice is not cool. ..booking a flight and time off of work, on short notice, will be a challenge, as well as the shear expense of going. ….Colorado – Washington State anyone?

  3. hasn’t Australia suffered enough?? first the Brits dump all their criminals there, now Larry Scott is gonna send the notorious trOXans???

    #Crikey!

    • Bucket is such a friend and supporter, where in the coliseum are your season seats?

    • Hey Up chuck, there was no mention about the ruins of ugly going. Just like your football team, no where to go, no bowl game, no bcs championship game, no heisman, no all americans. I have seen pizza delivery guys get more respect than ugly football.
That is Ugly’s new motto, (borrowed from Rodney Dangerfield) “I Get No Respect”.

    • I’m sure that you and Scott will be going to this game, especially after hearing that it was once a Penal Colony……Thunder Down Under!

  4. If larry scott holds true to form, he will only televise it on pac12 and it will be on a thursday.

  5. Well, consistent loser ideas from a loser, are in keeping with the officiating,tv,game times, not supporting SC when the ncaa steam rolled SC,a team the pac12 officials love to hate, etc…

  6. Actually this is nothing new, the ruins played the Mirage Bowl in Toyko Japan in 1980.

  7. What a great reward for the players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My vote is a hell yes. Great way to expand the media market for “American” football and maybe get them playing Down Under. As for fans actually attending from either school, look at Emerald Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl etc for poor attendance, a non-issue except for Scottie

  8. Another HUGE trophy for the ugly Trophy Case….right next to the ONE Heisman.
