New Soccer Stadium Map

LAFC.STADIUMHere is an overhead view of the new soccer stadium at the site of the Sports Arena. I’m going to find out the ramifications for USC fans as far as the parking is concerned.

  1. You do that, Scott…….I’m sure that the ramifications will be dire….and while you’re at it, please post another one of your mind numbing polls….You’re overdue for one…

    • Golly-Nerd is it true you are filing a lawsuit against the Comic Cons for unfair judging of Best Wookie Costumes?

  2. Who in their right mind would want a 20,000 seat soccer stadium. Now 40-45,000 seat is probably worth it. This deal will not go down. I hope.

    • i love the wolfman like a blood brother, but he may be the only person in LA who wants a $250 mil Futbo stadium. who’s gonna pay to build it?? i know not many will pay to get in. for crissakes they can play futbol at the Mausoleum!!

    • They will be a sub tenant under the lease USC has for running both the Coliseum and Sports Arena with the Coliseum Commission. Under this lease only a 24,000 seat venue is allowed as a replacement for the Sports Arena. I just read that LAFC will be signing a 98 year lease with USC for full rights to the Sports Arena property.

      • The EDC rave promoters have been saying they want to leave Las Vegas and come back to the Coliseum, this soccer studium is really gonna push them to come back. They would have to 2 huge outdoor sites with the coliseum and the soccer venue. It’s the biggest electronic festival in the world now and USC would make a TON of money by having it here for the annual three days. The last time they had it here they had problems with a death. The school said they wouldn’t have it in the coliseum grounds anymore, but I hate to say this but money talks. It would be way too much money for the school to turn down for three days of the coliseum being used. I believe in the next 5 years that festival will be back at the coliseum. Just a quick thought on what that stadium could mean. You would think a parking structure would have been built. I guess people want soccer more than I know.

    • 20-something thousand is actually the ideal size for an MLS stadium. Anything bigger and it’ll always be half empty. There’s a 90,000 seat stadium next door for big events.

  3. Here’s a topic you all might like: I just seen that Pat Haden is the highest paid AD in the country at 1.3 million a year.

  4. Scott, where are people going to park to go to these venues? That is the real question.

  5. How come none of you southern cal regulars are posting your #1 seed women’s tennis team going down to vandy today? On the other hand UCLA advances to the women’s tennis final!
