Difference Of Opinion

At least one preseason football magazine projected USC to win 11 games this season. That is quite different than the 8 wins set as the over/under here. Why such a difference of opinion? The 8 number is fascinating because it means USC only needs to win six games after its opening cupcakes (Arkansas State, Idaho).

  1. This stuff is flying way over your head. Quit posting about it. It’s only reaffirming how much of an idiot you are

    Wait for it……(trolls)

  2. AWESOME point wolflman, allow me to suggest a possible explanation: some analysts are only looking at the great recruiting classes and ASSUMING the players will deliver…while more INSIGHTFUL observers factor in recent HISTORY (of collapsing in 4th Qtr) and the COACHING STAFF’s shortcomings.

    • When you make your IDLE out to be a FOOL, which you do with stunning regularity and which appears to be stunningly easy, you miss out on a great opportunity and you are denied the best gift one can receive.

    • Charlie. Washington just got a commitment by Sean McGrew from St. John Bosco. I know the Bruins were going after him pretty hard and he and Rosen are really close. Did they pass on him because he’s only
5-8 or did he just decide on the Huskies.

      • But as I noted above, UCLA is recruiting very well so far, and the Pac-12 blog just ranked UCLA’s current WRs ahead of USC’s (RB’s, too). Realistically, were Rosen not a true freshman, USC might be in real trouble in 2015.

There was an article on an FB study hall type of website titled “Who Will Win the Battle of Los Angeles?”

That is reality. Not all this troll nonsense, and not all this homer nonsense.

IMHO, this is a pretty critical year for USC and for Sark. Never mind 15 wins. How about just winning most of the big games? USC has quite a few of them this year.

        • I know this. Michael Pittman was ready to Decommit from Ucla and SC backed off him for some reason. And it’s well known that we could have had Darian Owens, he’s all SC, all his family is all SC also. Again SC respectively passed on him. USC is going after the WRs that they want in this class. Tee Martin is on fire. Tyler Vaughns is probably coming in also. And a highly regarded Texas wideout is said to be now leaning towards SC. I totally forgot his name, but he’s in the US Army game. California is deep this year with wideouts. Sark and Tee are going for who they want right now and I heard on Tuesday they want 4 Wr’s for sure and would also try for 5. As for Ucla nabbing Krys Barnes, SC also backed off of him because he’s had a history of concussions. We really liked him, but he’s had like 4 in two years. So Ucla definitely is getting theirs. But SC is on a whole different mindset.

      • saw the kid on Roggin’s report last night. haven’t heard much about him from UCLA side. we do like our might mites (eg Manfro), i think maybe Mora just assumed he would come cause of Rosen, but when i looked on Rivals, the kid said he picked WA partly because Peterson was the only coach who personally recruited him. wish him well.

  3. I think we’re gonna end up going 15-0. Why? Here’s my theory. Because we have the talent and experience from last years losses. We will close out games this season, not blow them like against Utah and ASU. If we’re down like against Boston College and UCLA, then we will actually throw the ball as if we want to make a comeback. And another reason is…. I’ve been a good person so far in the year 2015, not that I’m not a good human being, but this karma thing can be a wild card of a reason for us to win in my opinion. I can see a 1 loss team going into the Pac12 championship game.

    • Exactamundo. Charlie’s IDLE will need some new shorts when we triple UCLA’s wins.

      • I don’t care for trolls. They are are only interested in provocation.

Still, I find the homer approach too heavy on denial. Don’t look now, but ESPN’s Pac-12 blog ranked UCLA ahead of USC not only at RB, BUT AT WIDE RECEIVER.

And UCLA is recruiting very well this year. Arguably, better than USC

I know, it’s early. But seriously, how does it help to pretend it ain’t so? I don’t get it. I really don’t.

        • If we had kept Williams, Algohor and Allen I would be more optimistic. Those three losses were devastating to any hopes of winning a national title.

      • Will sas also predict that Golly-Nerd will finally win a Best Wookie Costume contest?

  4. Preseason polls are usually conducted by people who read other writers press clippings, as oppose to doing research themselves. That’s why I like listening to former coaches call games on network telecasts , because most of their opinions are unbiased and on point! Except for Lou Holtz..of course…lol

  5. Guaranteed losses to Washington, Oregon, UCLA, Stanford, Notre Dame, plus another surprise loss courtesy of Sarkiffin!
