Matt Fink, Tate Martell Compete At Steve Clarkson Camp

USC commit Matt Fink and probable commit Tate Martell are competing at Steve Clarkson’s annual “QB retreat” in Coronado. In today’s longest pass competition, Martell threw a 63-yard pass while Fink threw 59 yards. Max Gilliam of Thousand Oaks, who is committed to Cal, threw 66-yards. But the winner was Feleipe Franks, who is committed to LSU, and threw a retreat-record 78 yard pass.

  1. Matt Fink stock has risen the highest of any QB in the 2016 class. Three months ago I was questioning Sarks thinking behind the recruitment of Fink. But he’s been on fire at 7 on 7’s and after watching his Junior highlight tape I was completely sold. Fink has even earned a spot to the Under Armour All American game and a #44 overall ranking. And he can take off and beat you with his legs. IMO, He’ll be the first dual QB that actually plays at SC.
Tate Martell is now looking at USC and Texas A&M since Fink committed. But he’s only going into his Junior season so why worry about him now.

      • Yeah I seen it. And I liked it. But I have to give the edge to Fink. IMO. I’m not saying at all that he’s Mariota but, he’s the one I would compare him to. Sark, Helton and USC stole a good QB. IMO.

        • I agree. Fink has a better arm, good footwork and great acceleration. …Fink is a perfect fit for Sarks offense. …

          • Going towards the future seasons. After Max Browne leaves. I agree. He seems to be the perfect fit for Sarks offense.
