  1. Where was Huberman during all this pitching mess? Injured or what.
Gilbert threw just 20 pitches in first game. Need him in the eighth. Hubbs didn’t develop the second line pitching all year. Andrew Wright who at 6’5 was imposing and used for only four innings w/o giving up a run. Defense was erratic whole series. Feel bad for the players on offense who provided more than enough after the 1st game to continue playing.

  2. Tweet of the Day, from Daelin Hayes

100 days until kickoff… We will be ready. #FightOn #AudiDrive2Kickoff

  3. wolfman, an UGLY rumor is going around that promotes the notion Hubbs INTENTIONALLY held Pubberman out cause he feared having their Sexx Tape guey blow the game would be FAR WORSE than simply losing!!

ITEM ONE: Pubberman was seen throwing Sunday between games with no visible restriction. ITEM TWO: no mention of the injury at any time BEFORE the games ITEM THREE: Wheatley was visibly EXHAUSTED yet Hubbs chose to leave in in far too long.

SDSU used their 1B to pitch, wolfman, you can’t hold ANYTHING BACK!!!

Or was the FEAR of a devastating ESPN headline too much???

  4. I’m proud of our guys. Sure, season didn’t end the way we wanted it, but our guys fought to the end.

Here is one that you should take to heart:

Be true to yourself. Make each day a masterpiece. Help others. Drink deeply from good books. Make friendship a fine art. Build a shelter against a rainy day.
Also learn to find the caps key.

I think you’ve gotten into Mr Walton’s stash. You seem to be on some sort of medication. Here is something that might help.

In plain and simple English this means hard work. Very hard work.
There is no substitute for very hard work when it comes to success.

I have not known, heard of, or read about any individual anywhere who
achieved real success without working extremely hard. In fact, the
great successes we all know about are individuals who almost always have
            greatly outworked their competition.

Grantland Rice, a sportswriter and poet, understood this fundamental
characteristic of achievement. He described it in his poem “How To Be a
            Champion.”

“You wonder how they do it, You look to see the knack. You watch the
foot in action, Or the shoulder of the back. But when you spot the
answer, Where the higher glamours lurk, You’ll find in moving higher, Up
the laurel-covered spire, That most of it is practice, And the rest of
            it is work.”

          • Poor Golly_Nerd won’t be ponticating about Smurfs any more. What will you do, Golly_Nerd?

  6. Wait, so UCLA’s still playing and USC is watching? Same result, different sport!

  7. It was a great effort and the team is on the right path. The pitching will be stronger next season and recruiting should start to take care of itself as long a we play well.

      • I didn’t think of that. In the pitching side I don’t think we have anyone who will leave.

          • We have two very good starting pitchers coming in next season. I don’t remember the names because college basball recruiting sites are stingy and expensive. But they both played in that AA game in San Diego. One is a recent Vanderbilt commit who we flipped.

    • You’re way too optimistic. Kyle Davis and Twomey look like goners in my mind. Not sure about Huberman with his off the field antic or Gilbert. Depends on Stahel, Robinson, Rameriz , Oppenheim and Lacey coming back offensively. Martinez only freshman, or soph who lends a bat from last two recruiting classes. You can’t count on all the very top recruits not turning pro out of high school. My opinion is Hubbs is all over the place handling the pitching staff especially the bullpen.

      • Im hoping we actually land these pitchers. A month ago I was hearing it’s likely they wouldn’t go in the first 4-5 rounds in the draft. I know ucla’s recruits are said to be headed to the pros for sure. I just hope we can build from here without missing the tournament. Like I was saying it’s hard to get college bball recruiting info so I don’t know who we have coming in offensively. In my opinion Davis needs a go to pitch he doesn’t have that. He does look like a ground ball pitcher. You definitely have better insight on the baseball team than me. Good stuff Steve.

        • Now that theres a New Sheriff In Town knowledgeable fans like you and Steve B. can share your insights.

          • That’s what this site is supposed to be about but they stopped policing it about 2 years ago and the rah rah bullies and internet brony and smurf weirdos took over. Now it will return to what it was meant to be.

          • I hope so. I don’t mind bruin fans who can debate their views. But c’mon they go outside of trash talking, I wouldn’t even call it trash talk.
