Phil Steele Follow-Up Thought

We are seeing a real divide emerge in expectations for USC football. Phil Steele’s basically plunged head first into the cardinal-colored glasses camp by naming Cody Kessler his national offensive player of the year and first-team All-American quarterback.

This conflicts with the initial bookmakers’ projections of USC’s over/under at 8-8.5 victories. Also, if Steele thinks USC has the second-toughest schedule in the country. So he must think USC is going to blow through it with ease if it has the offensive player of the year.

  1. You’re putting words in Phil Steele’s mouth, Scott, with all of this speculation and rhetoric …..why don’t you just pick up the phone and give him a call, or send him an e-mail, for clarification…..you’re gonna hurt your brain by overthinking this

  2. Charlie’s IDLE knows very little about the subject, but sure can comment (unwisely) about the knowledge of others. No Jim Murray here, move on.

  3. I can see Cody Kessler earning first team All American honors, but who really knows with the over under. And when you sign the best talent year after year, it’s suppose to help you get through the toughest schedules, so let’s stop paving the way for any Steve Sarkisian excuses …PLEASE!!!!
