Outfielder Jagger Rusconi of West Ranch High School in Santa Clarita, signed with the Boston Red Sox for $384,000. USC second baseman Dante Flores, who was drafted in the 18th round by the Chicago White Sox, also signed a contract. Previously, pitcher Tyler Gilbert signed with the Phillies.

Congrats to them all. It’s always disappointing when our high school players opt for the big leagues. Flores had a good season. Hopefully we can hold onto our top pitching prospects. The two kids coming out of High school who’s names I forgot, but look very promising if they make it to school.
