Today is former USC coach John McKay’s 92nd birthday. Of course, McKay won four national titles at USC (1962, 1967, 1972, 1974). In the photo above, McKay is carried on the shoulders of the players after a dramatic 20-17 victory over Notre Dame. The Trojans trailed 17-0 at halftime.

I was at that game. What a dramatic finish. All time top 5.
I was as well.
ND looked unbeatable that year, and in the first half it looked as if they were going to take out the Trojans pretty easily.
But SC clawed back little by little, and won it in the last minute Fertig to Rod Sherman.
That was a very grand moment
