There are always stats about how USC and the NFL but here’s a good one: USC has had more MLB All-Star selections than any school with 70. Arizona State is second with 58. One of USC’s all-stars was Fred Lynn, who was the game’s MVP in 1983.

And, back then, Fred Lynn was a member of the CALIFORNIA Angels….. I believe he was the first, and still the only, player ever to have hit a grand slam in the MLB All-Star game…..
“We like California Angels, we pick Gene Autry cowboys for 1st”
‘awww, go blow it out’……

I take it you’re an Angels fan.
I got to meet Reggie Jackson at Palm Springs Angel Stadium back in the day as a kid.
Over 50 years in the OC will do that to a person. ….I’ve met Bobby Grich several times
I have no problem with real Angel fans. I have few friends who suddenly became die hards after they won the World Series years ago. Those are the ones who bug me.
I used to sit on the roof of the restrooms behind right field and drink beer with my high school buddies, watching the games…. that sort of thing would never happen today….
That’s called prudence by mgmt. – liability.
Saw them at The Ravine (1962-64) and then on down to the OC – the 22 opened up in 65′ – not too bad a commute then – now? Bon chance!
There on a roll right now just won their 4th in a row and 8 of their last 10 with 5 to go before the all star break.
They desperately need a another stick – the rest of the AL isn’t going to keep feeding Trout and Pujols because save for Calhoun there isn’t much else.
Prudence, indeed….the country is ruled by lawyers, bankers and insurance companies…….I grew up in Westminster and I remember when the 22 Freeway was being built…. strawberry fields (and orange groves) forever, until they pave paradise and put up a parking lot…..Their offense is starting to click, but another bat is desperately needed … and maybe another arm out of the bullpen… a lefty would be nice…..SAS, teach your kid to throw left handed and he may have a chance at being a major league PITCHER! LOL
The trading deadline is two week from this Friday – 31st July – truly truly how foolish was DiPoto – not only to have done a ‘…it’s he or me!’ but with the trading deadline looming.
Glad Stoneman is back and let’s also hope for a decent bat as all know is desperately needed – rain delay in Denver 6:50 pm PDT
Nice!
I was in Palm Springs one time and Reggie “hit” on me. But I hear that’s nothing new.
Wow. Thats scary. Buff Guy like Reggie. Pepper spray would work.
So would a well placed surveillance camera, or smartphone…..
Being Brazilian, he’s not my type and I told him so. He left.
Rod Dadieu where are you?
I was thinking the same thing earlier today.
One can only hope – oh yeah and he took his two other ‘heads’ with him – ‘ucla owns LA Football’ and ‘gotroy22’
Memo to Rod Daddy-O: hey, come quick we found FREDDY!!!!!
Look in the mirror, Charles…. look in the mirror……
