What Is A Conundrum?

A couple years ago, athletic director Pat Haden said “baseball is a conundrum” with the challenges private schools face  in the sport. That got me thinking about what else is a conundrum?

Men’s basketball is a conundrum obviously even with the Galen Center and no scholarship issues like baseball. Women’s basketball apparently remains a conundrum despite signs a year ago the program improved. And football remains a conundrum when USC loses to inferior teams.

Let’s call it the Big 3 sports conundrum since baseball just had a good season. What else is a conundrum?

  1. Ray this where bRuins get their best material from to attack their Trojan acquaintances with. That is why they always end up embarrassing themselves.

    • Kenny, the trolls missed you on this blog after Klown U FB bent over a third straight time 38 – 20.

As usual Ken boy, all mouth and not enough points.

      Truth hurts doesn’t Ken Boy.

Let the trolls know when you want discuss the status of Klown U’s men’s basketball program.

      • You repeat the same things OVER AND OVER. Get some new material. Oh wait, you can’t. Enjoy it now. You and I both know it won’t last for UGLY

        • This fall it is all over. Back to being the great underachievers they are. Gotta really suck to be a bRuin.

  2. We are fortunate to receive this news only “a couple years” after the quote was made. Thanks to the Scott Wolf blog website.

  3. OH! OH! wolfman, i got one!!

how about this: readers of a blog complain INCESSANTLY about the blog, moaning about everything from the blogger’s factual commentary, even down down to scrutinizing the rare typographical error!!! yet despite all the complaining, (which is many cases, continues for YEARS) these individuals CONTINUE to gobble up the blogger’s posts like a fat guey eating potato chips!!!! DESPITE the existence of NUMEROUS other blogs for them to visit!!!

now THAT is a conundrum wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma!!!

  4. Why SoCal continues to pay their AD twice what UCLA pays theirs despite the fact he has gotten his lunch eaten, then handed back to him in all majors sports, for his entire tenure, THAT is a conundrum.

    • Why Guerrero settles for half what Haden gets paid is an even bigger conundrum. …low self esteem, perhaps?

      • Guerrero is at a public school and is also overpaid, even at half of what Haden gets. And Haden doesn’t need the job.

And since he only gets half of what Haden gets, he doesn’t have to run down onto the field, even if he could.

        • So, if St. Pat has so much money he doesn’t need the job, why pay him $ 2 million a year? Don’t get me wrong, I hope he stays forever.
          Guerrero is kicking his backside.

          • You would have to ask SC that. Perhaps he walked away from a lucrative job. From what I have heard, he has been quite successful financially. I know he is a member of the Augusta National Golf Club and the Los Angeles Country Club. So, he ain’t hurtin’.

      • Actually Rah-Rah, UCLA get 3x the value of Guerrero’s contract vs Haden socal contract.

You can bet Guerrero isn’t paying any UCLA coach the amount Haden is paying Andyain’twinning for his loser,sub-intramural, bottom-feeding performance.

  5. Oh Scottie, I just luv it when you get assertive. Will you run away with me to Mexico? We can pull a threeway with El Chapo.
