Winners And Losers Of The Week

AMYWho is up? Who is down? Let’s find out:

Annie Park

Turned pro and won LPGA developmental tour event over the weekend. More importantly, ask yourself what athlete accomplished more since she enrolled early at USC in 2013 with the same football class that included Su’a Cravens, Kenny Bigelow and Darreus Rogers. Park won an NCAA individual title and NCAA team title before she attended her high school graduation.

Hayes Pullard

The team leader brings out his teammates — Marqise Lee, Robert Woods, Cody Kessler, Marcus Martin, Silas Redd, etc — for successful camp at Crenshaw High School.

Gets to be on a Sports Illustrated cover. It counts even if there were 25 different covers, right? Almost as many covers as watch lists last week.

USC baseball

Pitcher Brent Wheatley is coming back and pitcher Kyle Davis is expected to return, which sets up a nice three-man rotation with Mitch Hart. But how to replace Garrett Stubbs and Bobby Stahel and Co.?

George Tirebiter

I’m starting my campaign to get his name on the Coliseum!

Losers

The Coliseum

Naming rights will be sold for the historic structure. Here’s some current sponsors that might be interested: Banc of California, , AT&T, Powerade, State Farm, Coca-Cola,  JetBlue, Continental. How does Banc of California Coliseum sound?

Watch lists

There are so many players and so many awards, it’s hard to even keep track. Unless of course you are the Biletnikoff Award and forget JuJu Smith.

The fans

Who else? With talk of an NFL team playing at Coliseum in 2016, renovations seem light years away.

USC uniforms

Jerseys released last week had so many dark panels it looks like you are sweating before the game even starts.

  1. Winners – SC, gets probably a million dollars for signage. Fans, the extra revenue for naming and rent from an NFL team may speed renovations of the Coliseum.

Loser – Wolf as always, lame Tirebiter bit.

    • Loser- the fans, because Pat Haden refuses to demolish the crumbling Coliseum and build a stadium worthy of the # 1 football program ijn the USA.

  2. And the biggest loser of all? Same this week as all the others. Scott Wolf.
