AT&T Merger With DirecTV Nears

The FCC is recommending approval of AT&T’s $49 billion takeover of DirecTV. This means the Pac-12 Network should eventually end up on DirecTV. In time for this season? That remains unknown. But long term, DirecTV subscribers seem likely to start carrying the Pac-12 Networks (through no credit to the conference itself).

  1. Good news Wolfie! Now you’ll finally have access to what I have had since the Pac-12 Network first started. Cutting edge stuff! Thank God for AT&T or you’d never have it.

  2. I have the Pac-12 Network and I have to be honest and say I wish there were more football and basketball shows. And when there’s no sports being played like now in the summer they keep playing baseball and volleyball which is ok, but they need to play more classic games or how about a show where Terry Donahue, John Robinson or even Rich Brooks go on and talk about one of their great seasons and give their opinions on what’s going on in the Pac-12. Special guest hosts could be Tom Kelly or Keith Jackson. That would be something fans would watch. Just thinking of easy ways to make this network seem better then the SEC Network (ESPN’s baby).

Anyways I’m still hoping to see my Dodgers play on tv!!!

    • Why would you want to see the Dodgers? You like minor league baseball? Were you alive the last time they won a world series?

      • As a matter of fact I was. I was only 5 years old and believe it or not I remember watching Kirk Gibson’s Game 1 winner off Eckersley.
They need to grow a pair and make a move for either Johnny Cueto, David Price, or Cole Hamels. They’re gonna need a big arm in the playoffs.

      • I hope you are aren’t claiming that the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are something special? I still laugh at the name. But they are a team who knows how to crumble at the end.

    • FYI, Tom Kelly is struggling with his health. I doubt if he would be up to a show. I haven’t heard much recently, but things a few months ago looked dire.

      • I remember seeing Tom Kelly in the press box last season during a game. I wish him well

  3. Great, that should add another $10 to my bill every month. It would be nice if Congress would DEMAND that cable and satellite HAD TO OFFER A LA CARTE. But that would be the end of Bravo, BET etc etc
