  1. This list is OFF in my opinion. Matt Fink and Lokeni Toailoa being ahead of Oluwole Betiku and Jack Jones is a joke. I like Fink and Toailoa are good ballplayers but they are definitely not better players or prospects then Betiku or Jones. Betiku is the top pass rusher on the west coast and Jones is a lock down corner who has been holding down receivers all summer during camps. You could even go as far as to have Betiku at #2 and Jones #3 or #4.

    • Interesting that Fink even made the list – let alone #2 – since Scottie thought USC was way off base when they offered Fink. And I agree with you regarding Betiku and Jones.

      Anyone know why Betiku has ruled USC out already?

      • I’m not ruling Betiku out as a Trojan. I have no solid info to shed. But in the last 3 weeks many “expert” recruiting analyst have picked Betiku to be a Trojan. Along with the fact that he plays for the Serra Cavaliers it helps out SC’s chances. But again for some reason many have all of a sudden changed their predictions for Beetiku to USC. Maybe they know some juicy info off the record. I do know this…Never bet on a Serra Cavalier passing on USC. Especially if we end up with the season we are predicted to have, a successful season would change everything. Betiku is not out of the picture.

        • Sas…Betiku’s guardian is Lavar Arrington who played for Tom Bradley at Penn State, new DC at UCLA. They are very close. Guessing it is a UCLA/Penn State battle, but who knows in recruiting. David Long is leaning Stanford from what I read and the Daily News doesn’t even mention Stanford. I would be shocked if Jack Jones from LB Poly didn’t end up at SC.

          • This kid has only played ball two years. This season he will see that his abilities are beyond anyone dictating his future such as Arrington. His mind is shifting towards SC at the moment.

          • Nobody really knows where these kids minds are. If Justin Wilcox can’t put together a decent defense this year and Bradley does a good job at UCLA, it could be very pivotal.

          • I think it’s less counting the wins than showing well in the losses, and in the NFL draft, and having a defensive system that Arrington believes will allow the young man to play to his strengths.

            Why assume that Arrington has great bias in favor of a completely different staff at PSU, if it’s not in Betiku’s best interest?

          • The Bruins, Penn St, and USC are going to be in him till the end. Personally I think Penn St will not be a factor, he’s just showing them love out of respect to Arrington.

        Oluwole Betiku now talks to coach Chris Wilson all the time now and has been hanging out with Rasheem Green, John Houston, and Caleb Wilson on a regular basis. And has “been enlightened by Coach Chris Wilson.” And from what I gathered it appears when Betiku trims his list of schools again USC will definitely be on the list at the top.

      I guess all the other professional recruitniks had the rankings wrong. Who knew that a single LA Daily small timer had them all beat ?

  2. I bet wolf writes these quick blog entries days if not more thank a week ahead of time and sets them on a timer to automatically upload (or he has one of his hot young female interns upload it at the exact second he prescribes).

    For all we know, right this minute Wolf is probably climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for the third time, or buzzing on zivania and dancing the night away in Cyprus — all while his bank account grows because we ALL visit this blog.

    Wolf makes over $100K as a blogger because he’s been at this for a while and knows all the shakes and shimmies of this game.

    Don’t hate the player, unless you abhor and are willing to completely banish yourself from the game.
