Bryce Dixon Appealing Return To USC

Steve Sarkisian said this afternoon that tight end Bryce Dixon, who is no longer enrolled at USC, is in the midst of an appeal process with the student-conduct office.
“I’d love to have him back,” Sarkisian said.
Meanwhile, it is still too soon to know if tight end Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick will be eligible this season.

  1. I like many of our TE’s, but the lack of experienced depth may be an issue…..

    • I understand your concern my good friend. But we were pretty much nonexistent at the TE spot last year with Telfer and Dixon. Dixon had 14 catches. I still think we can get that from who we have coming in. We should have known that Dixon was gonna fall out of the picture. It’s the curse of St. Bonaventure players at USC. Next to feel the curse…Rucky Town. Knock on wood!

  2. Of course he will be back. It’s an internal investigation and Sarkisian wants him back. Even the guy that jumped off the balcony running from the LAPD was back in time to lose to UCLA.

    • Every program has issues. Like someone’s Daddy swinging kettle bells at the coaches and the school sweeping it under the rug like it never happened. Do you know what I mean?

      • I am not sure that having on TMZ qualifies for sweeping it under the rug…but hey…it makes for good copy. What did Dixon “allegedly” do?

          • Yes he did. He got some easy trim. And she threw him under the bus or should I say train.

          • so let me see if i have this straight– this Deep South Throwback Moment was signed off on by Ocho… the same guey who was accused of being a racist by another player who was run off of the program.

            just….wow.

        • Well. Dixon had something going on with a girl. She has been rumored to have been with a few different players in her time at SC. Some of the players came to defend Dixon admitting they have been with her before or something along those lines. But she apparently got caught for once by her boyfriend. Instead of coming clean to her furious boyfriend, rumor is she threw around the “forced” term. I don’t personally know the truth, but her father is a big donor to the school who supposedly used his power to get Dixon forced out of school. Now many people around the situation say Dixon got $crewed in this. A source of mine who is close the football program said the girl, the boyfriend, and the father did whatever it took to get the spotlight off the girl. I heard there were people who vouched or gave statements of the girl having a history of lying and dating players. Long story short. She finally got caught fulling around on her longtime boyfriend, and she lied and before she knew it, her and her powerful father got a person thrown out of USC.

          • It sounds like every negative stereotype of a rich, private school girl with the wealthy donor father one can weave together, with a possible pinch of racism thrown in. Shades of To Kill A Mockingbird?

Wonder if Dixon wishes he stuck with his original commitment to UCLA.

          • The girls at Ucla are even more loose. Sadly I know. My ex,ex went there, and my know it all cousin who went there had a thing with that little mouse from Tom & Jerry Tyler Ebell. So Dixon would probably have dipped his pen in company ink as a bruin too I’m guessing. In other words I’m jealous of football players!

          • I don’t think there is a difference in “looseness” at either school….but combine a little rich girl who wants to taste a little forbidden fruit, a jealous boyfriend and an embarrassed donor with some power…and you have a problem, Houston. At UCLA, you lose the wealthy donor and don’t have the problem.

          • True. Probably the country. Maybe that explains the bi-annual Trojan meltdown in Tempe. SC may want to stay an hour away this year!

          • Not sure that using the small head will help his coaching.

            UCLA’s ? = QB position
            SC’s ? = Coaching

          • Mora’s making a big mistake of by offering Lokeni Toailoa’s brother. That’s just not good business.

          • Perhaps. I don’t know what the kid’s upside might be. Our starting LT was a 2-star that has improved greatly. Every now and then you take a chance on a kid. Better recruit than Justin Combs.

          • We had this conversation weeks ago ,when Dixon was at spring practices and had an attorney.Dixon then had met with administration stating his intent.Sark has supported Dixon through out the process showing his belief in the young man.
Personally , from a few interviews I’ve read with Dixon, I appreciate his fight for his rights, and believe he may ultimately return.
What is not being talked about on this blog, and few other places is that both USC , UCLA and over 60 other schools are being investigated by Federal agency for campus crimes against women, with schools in danger of loosing federal funds and tax status. So in Dixon’s case, the people that ruled originally were under the gun.Very sensitive issue.
Hope that a true and fair hearing occurs, and that it turns out in Dixon’s best interest.
Again , hard for me to believe Wolf wasn’t aware of this when we were weeks ago.

          • I don’t see the process being hurried. The girls family will hold it up and Dixon will be in limbo. Just doing nothing. I’m just assuming. I hope he can get back to the team quickly. My gut feeling is its going to drag on. I think Dan Weber actually mentioned what you said about other schools being investigated. And yet nothing from Wolf.

          • Agree ,in all probability this drags well into next year.I believe at the time it was public that Dixon had legal support, SW was throwing out Dixon would probably transfer , listing UCLA as one possible school.Question is this before the student-conduct office or another office.? Not certain, but thought it had been appealed there couple months ago, and that his legal representation had taken it elsewhere. Again, I may be incorrect here.

          • Yeah I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting on this to get rolling.

On a brighter note. DE Oluwole Betiku from Serra is trending towards SC. He had us out of his top six over a month ago, now we’re supposed to be in top 3. He just said today hes going to visit August 5 the first day the coaches come back from their vacations.
And Isaac Nauta is being recruited by Chuma Edoga, and Josh Imatorbhebhe hard. He knows them both really well and will visit for the bruin game. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were to lose Devin Asiasi (I know he’s not committed but still) and end up with Nauta.

          • Nauta is a stud, he sure seemed to suddenly appear after decomimting from FSU.he would be a nice get.Again national recruiting.. Is Tee involved here? A lot yet to happen recruiting.. Is the OU TE transfer on campus?

          • My friend has been telling for a while now that we’re in it for Nauta. I guess it’s an actual possibility. I think Tuiasosopo is his primary guy and I think Tee is involved because this guy is from Georgia and that’s a big part of Tee’s area in recruiting. I hear that commit Josh Imatorbhebhe and Chuma Edoga know Nauta really well from both living and playing in Georgia and they are supposedly recruiting him hard.
I don’t know about McNamara. I thought he was here, but haven’t heard much about him. I did here he was totally eligible and would be here for fall practice.

          • Betiku is a 5 star and the top pass rusher on the West.
Nauta is also a 5 star. They say he dominated at the Opening and Devin Asiasi was very average.

          • OK, I get it now, it’s HER fault, not Shaw’s
She probably texted him with the idea about jumping off the balcony to save his nephew and encouraged the SC PR machine to tell the hero story.
Wow, denial runs rampant near Rampart.

      • Young Diddy is still a member in good standing on the UCLA FB team.

      • so says the guy who claims to know it all……Mercy Nurse…
Just like you boneheads have swept the J.P. Widney racism issues and the cowardly acts of Nazi GERMANY sympathizer, Dean Cromwell under the carpet…..So…..McKay wore NIKES?

    • You mean Josh Shaw?…..who was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the No. 120 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft?… THAT Josh Shaw?……..he more than served a fair penalty for doing a stupid thing…no crime was committed, as far as I know…nor were any charges filed, were they?

      • We don’t know the whole story because he lawyered up as soon as he finally told the truth. The truth: something Klownster’s don’t care about – a minor detail in the Klown U pursue of FB victory.

      • Amazing that Shaw, with all his baggage, got picked so much higher than poor moon-eyed Hundley, who’s now stuck for another 5-7 years stupified on the bench, unless he becomes trade bate for some free agent to be named later. Either Mora undersold his QB or beating Kiffin/Sark isn’t viewed as much of an accomplishment.

    • Yea mets, your right but at least SC doesn’t have to rent the Rose Bowl to play there!

  3. That’s usually what happens with those SPECIAL ADMITS (The guys with the dreaded CHARACTER ISSUES). Know what I’m sayin’? Look what has happened over at Miami years ago…..Things sure have changed from the good old days. It used to work for you boneheads back in the days when you owned the cops.

    • I seem to remember bruin fans wining after he chose the Trojans after the Bruins thought he was gonna pick UCLA. Let it go bud.

  4. Crazy how rumors spread “USC Legal Department expels student because a rich donor comes to the aid of a girl”, ha! What I heard back in May, after many months of thorough a
factual investigation within USC that began back in early November, found that Bryce Dixon was responsible
for violating 5 different sections of the Student Conduct Code, and was
expelled. He hired a lawyer once he knew that he wasn’t protected as a scholarship football player, appealed to the Student Behavior Appeals Panel, and again was found guilty on all the previous charges, and expelled again. Time to move on…
