Do Not Expect Tight End Bryce Dixon To Play In 2015

DIXON.REALI finally got some concrete answers today regarding tight end Bryce Dixon’s situation, which has been legally vague the past few days. Unless USC changes its mind, which is unlikely, Dixon will not play this season. Even if he fights in court, a trial date would not be set until after the season.

Basically, Dixon can ask a judge to remove the expulsion but cannot ask a judge to force him back on to the football team. And even if a judge restored Dixon’s status, USC could simply not play him in games. Not Steve Sarkisian, obviously, but someone higher up in the administration.

So Dixon will stay at USC and see if he can clear himself of the charges and then either be allowed to play for the Trojans next season or transfer to another school. Dixon is allowed to use all the athletic facilities. So he’s an athlete who is not allowed to play athletics.

  1. Reading the alleged victim’s account it looked as if Dixon dodged a criminal charge bullet. And did he not learn his lesson last April but then was at a few months later with the same woman. Of course, one could also place some blame on the lady. But all in all, Dixon should look for another opportunity.

  2. So these are questions for the commenters, since Wolf never has answers.

    1. Does the coaching staff want him back or are they with the administration on this one and just want to cut ties?

    2. Is there anywhere that has a timeline and/or details of the situation?

      • Why do you waste your time on here? I don’t get what you get out of trolling an SC board nonstop. It’s sad.

  3. Dixon definitely offended some USC people, even some on the USC team, so this goes a lot deeper than charges or culpability. That’s what he’s got to find a way to mend, or survive, if he ever expects to play for the Trojans again.
