  1. Highly irresponsible declaration, if you are suggesting that more drinking goes on at USC than any other college. Silly Wolfie. Are you a teetotaler or in recovery yourself?

    • But none other Head FB coaches are showing up at sponsored Univ. freshman rally’s sh*tfaced, obnoxious, and downright ugly and pathetic.

Don’t worry Jack, Sark will investigate his problem.

      • Really makes one pause and THINK about the allegations made by Anthony Brown that were so cavalierly dismissed by southern Cal….what else is being hidden???

        #TIpOfTheIceberg

        • I dismissed those as sour grapes before but now you have to wonder. The man is a loose cannon. He needs to reevaluate his life and whether coaching is contributing to his self-destructive behavior.

  2. Sark Embarresed himself, and the university.. He has apologized.. We are on record if it reoccurs… If it does, I’m sure the repercussions and the public will be harsh.. For the moment, move on…Back to Football..
As for the drinking culture SW you refer too, Write your article and elaborate, no one line statements TMZ in nature…. Drinking, when in excess is a world wide problem, one with millions affected… Completely different forum… It’s my hope that for the next week, month heck season on this blog is not used by SW to chastised Sark .Sark has his own personal problems. Let them be personal, unless it reoccurs…No polls, Stay to Football, if SW you indeed do that,l applaude you.

      • Inappropriate !! Yes_, the F is not for football. For his social behavior he has a leash with the university and its shorter… Back to The Important F word…
I believe offensive will be fine, although looking at O line closer now..This defense has potential to be something very special..

        • To be honest. If Sark had a better resumè this wouldn’t be as much of a big deal. But he is still on thin ice as the coach of USC and should know better. He made a mistake and probably won’t do it again. The Oline will be fine. It’s not just Lobendahn, Tuerk, Mama, Talamaivao, and Banner. Those are the core guys, but Wheeler,Edoga, and Brown are really pushing for playing time. And Banner’s already in the dog house with Connelly. Edoga is capable of going with the 1’s. But by game time it will all be sorted out and they’ll be ready. The defense looks good. Some reporters have said they would have Marshall and Cam Smith starting the first game. Thats a good sign in my opinion. And Gustin is having some really good practices. The defense could be special.

          • SAS, don’t kid yourself, haven’t you SEEN the MOVIES?? the guey with the drinking problem always end up staggering into the fancy event and blows it!!! he hasn’t hit rock bottom yet, that will probably be at a bowl game (if he makes it that far)….

            #JustAMatterOfTime

          • Very cute, gotroy22. Anything about Sark’s being pulled away from the podium remind you of James Mason’s big scene? (I just can’t seem to recall Mason’s response to causing himself so much embarrassment —did it have something to do with the ocean)?

          • Yes, that’s one. another recent good drunk guey movie was the one with Denzel Washington….”flight”?? anywho i’ve SEEN this movie before!!!

          • Freshmen are going to have Huge impact ,both in game and practice…were headed back to the years when those you practice against are as good or better than who you play Saturday!!!Finally
Depth returning. Really excited to watch Gustin, Biggie, heck so many of these freshman…And yes great to hear Townsend mentioned so much….To me defense will be the ticket to our first PAC 12 Title…..

          • From what I hear Masina is learning quickly. Not enough to overthrow a senior, but is coming along well. The only spot from the freshman that has been quiet has been DLine. My nephew left me hanging for the Stanford game, my pal may have an extra ticket for me, but I decided I will go to the Arkansas St. Game. I have to be there when our freshman play in their first game.

      • Old Cutty Sark did more than that. Before he even got to the podium, people could tell he was sloshed, just from his approach. Nikias was looking on in horror and people were rolling their eyes. Some of USC’s Mormon players seemed offended.

Hopefully, Sark gets some help because what he’s doing isn’t working. The only good thing for him now is that there isn’t any doubt any more about his problem, and if he thinks there is, I feel sorry for him. Seems to be the nature of the beast for those who are into the sauce.

Cody Kessler put on a good show though. Apparently, he was very impressive.

        • Did he hit on anyone’s wife? Jk. But he should put down the bottle. I’m sure he’s gonna see video of this and feel stupid. And my Mormon pals growing up were awesome but you wouldnt want to party with them. A bunch of downers. No offense. I love them, but they are the hall monitors of partying. This is an indicator of Sarks recent divorce. I hope he gets it together quickly.

          • I don’t think Sark needs to see video, since it’s a national story and one I’ve never previously seen played out before – at least not by a college FB HC who’s drunk and stupid at a huge school event and on camera. This is ground-breaking actually. While there have been many very successful CFB HCs with drinking problems, I’ve never seen one go all out to publicize it live before.

Many of us have been divorced before. No reason for him to go off the deep end, especially since he was playing around on her in Washington for years according to the locals. Guy’s got problems.

          • He needs to keep his habits and urges behind closed doors. We have two weeks before we play ball. He has to set an example. If a player gets in trouble today for alcohol or marijuana then Sark is only a punchline. Still, I think this is probably a wake up call and expect him to behave more mature going forward.

          • Oh, I’m sure he’ll toe the line.

As far as maturity goes, I already thought he was a big boy in his forties. It’s just too bad we find out he’s not even mature enough to stay sober at such a big event.

Whether he wakes up or not, he’s branded now. Maybe not in the eyes of USC apologists, but everyone else knows USC’s potential HC problem just got a lot bigger. People at USC who are having to deal with this are a lot more concerned (and pissed) than you are.

          • By no means am I ok with this. All I can say is this is probably his only warning and the next time he could be unemployed. I hope he tones it down and learns from this.

          • He may be in over his head, especially if he has a drinking problem. As funny as this seemed to me initially, if one is the speaker at a big event, one should know not to drink until after speaking. That poor judgment may speak to more than just immaturity. Sark always seemed like a pleasant guy to me, not a great coach, but a pleasant guy. If he has a serious alcohol problem, I hope he gets in treatment after the season.

          • It’s a public problem now, and it’s his own doing. He needs rehab just as much as Johnny Football.

          • He ain’t going to rehab unless this happens again. And the next time he might as well be fired.

          • I just looked it up because I thought BYU players were Mormons, but according to sources I found Sark is Catholic. Maybe explains something. Choose your own point here.

          • You’re letting Sark off the hook a bit too easily. The team doesn’t need somebody to “party with” —they need a COACH, at the top of his form, to lead them into battle week after week.

          • For the last time….I’m not defending him. It’s pi**es me off that he has acted in a drunken manner. All I’m sayin is the next time he’ll probably be gone. he’s got a problem. Do I want him gone? No. Do I want him to get help? Yes. but we all know that won’t happen any time soon. He’s on thin ice. If he’s such a fu** up, it will all come crashing down for him. I’m not hoping for the worst for him like most of you. Yes his actions are embarrassing to himself and the school and program. If he’s our coach going forward then I will support and hope for the best.

          • I get your point, sas. But we have a problem.
If you were to ask players (hooked up to a lie detector, not reading talking points) if they are proud of their coach today, the answer would be no. It’s anybody’s guess how long they’ll feel that way—just as it’s anybody’s guess how quickly Sark can turn himself around. I never “hope for the worst” when it comes to USC —but, if and when Sark “comes crashing down”, he’ll be taking a lot of players, fans and an Athletic Director with him.

          • I see your point. Definitely. A coach should never act like a drunken fool in front of all of the university. He’s very lucky to still be our head coach. I hope this is a kick in his nut* to correct his path.

        • Guys, intoxication is American culture, and certainly university student culture–by no means just football players.

I’ve read rumors about Haden, as I’m sure you have.

However, before that particular event, it’s reasonable to expect better judgment.
Hopefully, Sark understands that going forward, and will do whatever is necessary.

He did not seem himself after the scrimmage. We all have a lot of stress, and the pressure on Sark is fairly severe (despite the grand income). Plus, ask any newly separated man with kids, and see if life is going swimmingly.

  3. Sarkisian has yet to coach a single game in 2015 and he is already in big trouble. For the sake of this team, I hope he cleans himself up and cleans himself fast. This alcohol addiction did not arise last weekend, he’s had ample time to fix this thing for years and has refused to do it. Haden had better get his “bull pen ready”.

      • Point well taken, UCLA. If I were Haden —whose star, whether he likes it or not, is inextricably linked to Sark’s success THIS year—I’d be sort of worried.

        • Haden cursed himself when he made those comments this week that he would be staying on as AD for a long time.

          • Yeah. Can you imagine the heat Haden is going to feel when Sark loses to one —or two or all three– of the teams that “suck”?

          • Agreed —and why do I get the feeling it’s all just starting (once again)?

On the plus side, Sark has handed Haden the excuse he needs to make a change, be a hero, and save the season (remember Haden has one or two very viable in-house options for Head Coach—guys the team would REALLY rally around).

          • That’s it in a nutshell – there is now an option to sack Sarkisian but as others have noted now the ‘ego’ of having chosen him (Sark) shall kick back against Haden.

          • Well, he’d better leave him with a designated driver too….no use putting the public at risk.

  4. Satan, i don’t ask you for much, but i ASKING NOW!!!!

puh-LEEEEEEEEZE tell there is a UTube video of this event…….i’ll never ask for ANYTHING else!!!

    #Hic!Hic!

  5. wolfman, you KNOW we love you like a brother, but why CONDEMN the entire CULTURE for the deviant behavior of one man???

Pat is known to thrown them back and HE never acts like a braying jacckasss!!! at Cadre HQ, we booze it up all the time, but we act like PERFECT GENTLEMEN when women and children are present!!

no, wolfman, you can’t blame the Culture for THIS one, although admittedly, the culture at Southern Cal is odious for so many OTHER reasons!!

    #Don’tHateTheGameHateThePlaya

    • lol Charlie Bucket, you’re a fool. ;-p I have to say, you keep it entertaining and have more wit than the usual UGLY crowd. We need someone out there trying to keep up the Westwood High end of this one sided rivalry. Thanks.

    • You forgot about Pat Haden’s drunken meltdown on national TV at the Stanford game?

  6. Obviously Wolf is referring to Pat Haden, and the reputation there, and Sark’s reputation (which is probably less than Haden’s in regards to being a lush). O’Neill had a rep too as did a few other coaches. But really, not to make an excuse, but these are grown men in high stress jobs who drink once in while. Almost everyone did that until a little while ago (present company excluded) and no one was the worse for wear, and society was much more fun (minus car accidents).

  7. Mr. Jenkins couldn’t agree more that USC drinking culture issues need to be addressed. Our top concerns …
    1. Lack of a truly decent watering hole in the area since Julie’s went away.
    2. Reinstating alcohol sales at the Coliseum AND getting it in the Galen Center.
    3. Lifting the Thursday night game tailgating ban on campus & the Row.

  8. Scottie trying to start a rumor that USC has a bigger drinking problem than other colleges so he can get picked up by TMZ. I see an invitation from Petros to his show to see if Scottie’s story has legs. Is this what journalism has come down to?

  9. And Coach O is saying, “And I was the one that wasn’t ‘polished’ enough for your liking. How’s that working out for you?”
