USC Morning Buzz: Is Steve Sarkisian Facing Punishment?

SARK.SCRIMMAGE.2Here’s my story for today’s Daily News on whether USC will punish Coach Steve Sarkisian for last weekend’s performance at Salute to Troy?

“The issue of drinking existed long before Sarkisian. Legendary coach John McKay had a booth named after him at the famous Julie’s restaurant next to the campus in the 1960’s and 70’s. Long-time employees reminisced about meeting him there after practices for a drink . . .

“Critics point to the 2012 Sun Bowl, where Kiffin sported a large scrape on his forehead. Sources within the football program said Kiffin suffered the cut when he fell in the hotel after drinking. Before the game, a female employee applied make-up to the scrape and Kiffin wore sunglasses despite the cold conditions for the game.” Full story here

  1. Mack Brown summed this whole thing up the best – Sark was probably dehydrated with an empty stomach after a grueling two weeks of fall camp and somebody handed him a drink (the end)

This story is boring already, Wolfy – let’s get back to how good this D is, and how Adoree’ may be the best athlete in SC sports history – whattaya say?

    • dude, let the virtuoso do his THING!!!

wolfman is taking his game to a whole ‘nother level!!!

it’s like seeing Jordan in his prime driving to the hoop, or Leonardo painting a portrait!!

would you stop Beethoven in the middle of his 5th symphony and ask him to play Turkey in the Straw???

      #ClassicWolfman

    • Adoree’ has not cracked the top twenty-five yet.
      #hugeupside

Question of the day: ‘While Sark is in rehab, will you coach the team personally (Pat) ?’

    • Isn’t Mack Brown from Texas where they put beer in their Cheerios? Didn’t they fire Mack Brown?

    • SW is in the “Semi Spot Light” those wanting TMZ,are calling him and quoting him.Notice when he writes an article, it seldom reports, or involves core football.I guess it is Hollywood, scandals are a sport in themselves.. If this was SEC, probably would have stayed in house.
      So Football, _ _ _ _ Yes!
What’s up with OL *? Are players slotted in wrong positions? When is Wheeler back.?OL is struggling How to fix?
Is the Defense as good as its looking? Will Biggie and Porter be Freshman AA ?..Gosh..there’s so many football questions, does anyone care? Oh , and when might Davis return to Backfield? Sorry I’ve gone off topic..great football article Wolf, your pumping me up for kickoff !!

  2. Love it……recruiting 101……Torgans tell everyone Mora is gonna leave…while Mora donates 1/2 million towards the UCLA New football facility…..Torgans then say Mora is an a-hole (because he’s NEVER LOST TO YOU CLOWNS?)…while the last two LOTT award winners say otherwise. UCLA had Kendricks and Barr….you boneheads send out Josh Shaw and a tight end accused of rape?,,,,,Meanwhile….Sarkiffian is accused of being a racist….while Haden has to protect him from referees and has to drag him off the stage for being drunk?
It’s just amazing the NCAA hasn’t just shut you down

    • This is a very serious question that we have to all ask ourselves – admitting the problem this the 1st step, Ray.
      FIGHT ON

  3. Punishment is not required. Help is. The leadership above Coach is guilty.

  4. I’ve never seen cuz so excited . He might even leave the basement and take the bus to USC today. 1st question ” Do you think fireballs taste like hot tamales?”

  5. Just like Caesar, I think St. Pat will try to keep his head down doing nothing until the ugly masses have their taste of blood at the Coliseum. After they blow out the Arky State Dead Wolves by 50, he will poke his head up like it’s Groundhog Day, sniff the air and hope the pressure is off. He can’t admit his coach has a problem or he has to deal with it now. Remember when he was 150% behind Kiffin? What he meant was that Kiffin was on a cliff and he was right behind him ready to push.
I have to admit, it’s great theatre. Can’t wait for the Pat Haden 30 on 30. The Fall of Troy
