Morgan Breslin Sues USC

BRESLIN

Former USC defensive end Morgan Breslin filed a lawsuit against the university because he claims the school advised him to buy an inadequate disability insurance policy. Breslin was injured his senior season and quickly cut by the San Francisco 49ers.

Breslin filed a claim with the AmTrust insurance company in May 2014, but AmTrust denied it seven months later and filed a lawsuit in New Jersey asking that the policy be declared void, according to Breslin’s lawsuit.

“USC controls all communications between insurers offering athletic
insurance policies and the student athlete who will buy the policy,” the suit said.

It might be worth attending a hearing if Breslin testifies since he refused to ever speak to the media his two years at USC.

  1. ucla may have lost all pac-12 CB Ismael Adams today who was arrested for robbery

  2. What, Breslin couldn’t read the value of the policy by himself?

Sounds like typical ambulance-chasing lawyer behavior.

  3. OMG can we go ONE WEEK without some new trOXan scandal???

i guess Bresiln outta be happy they dint poison him with Toradol. interesting Southern Cal gave him such terrible advice. sounds like he gonna get PAID!!

      • My sources say they will be painting the cell block Baby Blue for all the Bruins housed there.

        • this was just a prank on the driver that got outta hand. i have dispatched Yoda to the court house to request Adams be released forthwith under the custody and auspices of the Cadre.

          #Misunderstanding

          • Don’t be too surprised when the Deputy Public Defender assigned to Adams’ case presents your theory at arraignment, Charlie.

          • charges will be dropped. i have now dispatched Yoda to “have a talk” with the Uber driver. the Uber drive will realize this was all just a misunderstanding…

          • You realize, of course, it’s now going to look very suspicious when the driver suddenly recants….

          • Now, there’s only one tiny loose end left, Charlie. Somebody has to get to the officer who took the report and get him to “spontaneously recall” that he misreported the driver’s original story (so the driver’s “new” story can’t be impeached at trial with his prior inconsistent statements).

  4. Bucket/ThaiMex:

Can you ever post something funny?– In the five years you have been posting I have not gotten even one chuckle out of any of your posts.

Oh, excuse me, when you talk about Wolf getting a Pulitzer, that is somewhat amusing, but so farfetched that it is merely irritating.

  5. Disability policies can be difficult to collect on if you can do other kinds of work. Insurance companies are the modern day robber barons, selling you a policy you can’t collect on or find a way to deny a claim. Will have to see how this plays out, who said what, who’s trying to get what.

    • I agree insurance is a bet against the golden rule-“he who has the gold makes the rules”.

  6. Okay did I get this right? An adequate not great football player buys insurance to protect his ability to earn NFL payola but cannot collect. So sue the school?
He went undrafted he just wasn’t good enough last year. How is this the school’s fault? I wish Morgan all the best and hope he knows how to speak Canadian. Did he get a degree or was football his only idea?

  7. This is no big deal…….seems to me…a whole lotta former athletes end up suing the south central university…….I can name 5-6 off the top of my hat…..
