Prediction —Having this guy on the field is going to be a huge plus this season. It’s easy to see why the players relate to him.
Prediction — this is gonna be good.
Reason number one: he won’t be intoxicated.

Call him Ishmael.
Ishamel
I see what you did there
Lame.
Really hard to find a name that is a perfect oxymoron.
Guy’s a stud.
hired by Kiffin ..assistant to Kiffin and SUCK , ya this meathead is going to be a dandy
Some one tell this guy that Marquis Lee is no longer on the team… He is going to have to look at Portin Gustin in the eye, as he will be the TE to inside release to win at the line of scrimmage…but he will be too slow to follow through.
You’re delusional Ted.
No, Ted is just another typical anti-Trojan creep with nothing else going on in his limited, miserable life, so he writes some over-the-top items about ol’ SC and then feels really good about himself– for a couple of moments until his usual morose sets back in.
Of course, the same can be said for the Ugly Bucket aka ThighMix, SUCLA CLOWNS L.A. FOOTBALL, Torgan, Metaphor and a few other SUCLAs.
Tell the blog Walnut what it’s like to be a member of the A list henpecked glitterati. Nobody cares, but it’s something to keep you busy.
Have you received permission to watch or attend Klown U’s cream puff Ozark St. opener?
Ted get a grip, Clay remembers the instructions Marquis needed to make the play on a critical play last year! That’s how good he is.
Helton wasn’t on the sideline last year!! Sark must have looked into Lee’s eyes and yelled “get readdy to fu#king fight on Buababy!” Sounds about right!

WILL REDSHIRT (11)
WR Deontay Burnett
QB Sam Darnold
TE Daniel Imatorbhebhe
OT Clayton Johnston
OT Roy Hemsley
LB John Houston Jr.

(*-Wilson is a preferred walk-on)
John Houston redshirting is the right move. He is big at 6-3, but right now he’s just undersized in terms of weight and muscle. We don’t need him bad enough at the moment so this will help him tremendously by learning in practice and getting bigger as the season goes and in the spring.
And Deontay Burnett was talked of having a great summer and camp, but again very undersized at the moment at only 165-170lbs.
And the number of players who won’t redshirt is impressive. They all seem to have a chance to get some playing time.
Sounds like a guy that would probably run the program 10 X better then Steve Sarkisian .
i agree with all these posters… Helton is absolutely free to concentrate only on playcalling following the week’s gameplan & practice. The offense has got to be thrilled about this.
Helton calling plays is monumental. Not only is he a very good offensive tactician, he knows his offense and players better than the HC. This could very well determine the NC.
I agree that Clay knows the players better than Sark, but if you know Clay, you know he is largely unproven to play call an offense by himself. I’m looking forward to it.
I’m glad that Clay Helton was handed play calling duties, as I’ve met Clay before and know what he’s ultimately got to contribute which = not a lot for usc.
